Some days I have very little enthusiasm or want to do much of anything. I want to get addicted and excited about something.
My current excitements are as follows: coffee.

Should I play WOW? Could I get addicted to that?

I don't play WoW because it CAN get addicting.

I have college, a job and a girlfriend...so there is no time for WoW in my schedule o_O

MineCraft is fun and addicting too...that's actually the reason I don't want to start playing it @_@

but if you WANT to get addicted...MINECRAFT or WoW...

oh....for WoW...if you don't wanna pay..Private Servers is King

Well millions of people can't be wrong, I guess.

Oddly enough I have 4 weeks of WOW trial time thanks to a cockup at my local Game store (long story) but as it's in disk form and I'm typing this on a netbook you can see the flaw in that plan. That and I doubt this netbook can run the title screen, never mind the actual game.

my friend started to play WoW they were never the same again
watch the south park episode.
see what happens to them

No, do NOT play WoW.

It's just like playing with heroine: You get addicted and lose your life.

World of Warcraft is a huge time sink, Its a great game, There's ton's of stuff to do.

But be warned, You will get criticized for being a noob/bad, Thats how it is.

However if you are going to start I would recommend a few things.

DO NOT start on a PVP server, Pick a server that meets your timezones, Do research about your class that you are going to make your main.

Also, I would wait for Cataclysm, starting now wouldn't be bad, but with Cata a month a way, I would wait to start fresh so it doesn't interfere with leveling (they are changing the leveling structure).

If you have anymore questions I would rather talk with you over PM, I myself am in a Top 100 US guild and considered one of the best Tanks in my battlegroup.

Yea, just play it.
The one's being really mad about this game, are either people who just don't enjoy a good MMO, or don't have the money for it.

I'm on a break from WoW myself, just till cataclysm, the new expansion, arrives, I suggest you do the same, wait for cataclysm, and just start playing it.

I do recommend starting with a friend tho.

I suggest playing a better MMO.

Or Minecraft. Minecraft is ridiculously addicting.

WoW is barely worth playing anymore, it's too outdated to stand up to several MMOs.
Which is sad, because Everquest 2 is old as fuck and feels pretty new age, not sure why WoW couldn't figure out how to update their gameplay similarly.

Millions aren't wrong about iProducts being good, or the Twilight series being amazing either.

Just because something has huge numbers doesn't mean it's good.
WoW became popular because it used to be one of the best. It now retains the popularity because it's popular.
Popularity feeds itself with more popularity.

That said, it's still the perfect game for casual MMO gamers. If a person isn't looking for hardcore PvP, or the fun of creating your own unique character build...WoW is your game. If you can get past the dated feel anyways.

I never started it just because I knew I would get massively addicted to it.
I love those kind of games and I was scared of the consequences. That game would have changed my life, for the worse.

Seriously, what's with all the whining about that.
I know more then enough people who play wow and still have "a life"...

I'm just more sensitive to get addicted to some games. Games like Oblivion and Fallout totally engross me and I'll play them for around 6 hours everyday, in a school week.
If I'm home all day, that doubles, at least.
Luckily for me Oblivion and Fallout are relatively short, in 70 hours you've usually seen it all. With mods it can double, but then it's done.

That's not the case with WoW, I could play that game for 1000's of hours. I'm not taking the risk.

+ it costs way too much, especially since I'm used to being a pirate

Personally it really depends on your fancies i played WoW for four months back when it was first released and didn't care too much for it. It just wasn't engrossing enough for me.

You probably got to level 5 in WoW and deemed it bad.

If you want to play a MMO that you don't have to pay every month, i would say Guild Wars. Yes, it's not as popular as WoW but it's still a very good game. Good storyline in the game

I suggest you take a serious look at Lord Of the Rings online. It's one of the best MMOs I have played and is enjoyable even if you aren't a fan of the books or movies (but it will likely make you a fan like it did me.) And best of all, it recently turned free to play!
