Hacking Should I perform Wii system updates now?

I'm obviously new to Wii homebrew, but I'm figuring it all out pretty quickly and I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of the smart programmers out there for making this homebrew available. Nice job, guys, this is awesome stuff.

One thing I'd like to know now is, after installing the homebrew channel and putting a few wads on my Wii menu, should I perform the next Wii system update from Nintendo? Or will it screw everything up?

As of now, nobody knows.
I just install whatever wad I wanna play, but leave nothing more than the twilight hack savegame on my wii whenever I use it online. Besides, installing them/removing them takes less than 5 minutes.

That's not a bad idea. I'm sure some red flag must go up when the wii's online and there are VC channels that were never paid for.

I figure that leaving the homebrew channel on there is OK, though. I mean, it's not illegal, it's just a channel made by regular guys. Granted, the channel ENABLES illegal behavior, but the channel itself is not something I think we should worry about.

Might as well get the system up to 3.2U. I'm guessing during E3 in July Nintendo will announce USB storage device is in development (check their recent posting on their corporate site @ http://www.nintendo.com/corp/jobs.jsp , CONTRACT - Software/Hardware Tester ).

Based off of that I'm guessing maybe we will see another update before Christmas. I haven't seen any big titles I can recall off hand planned for later this year so they gotta bring something to the table this Christmas to knock off our Wii-fit socks.

thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to just leave my homebrew channel up since it's so incredibly more convenient than doing the Twilight Hack EVERY TIME I want to use homebrew. But, I think I will keep other wads off my Wii menu while going online.
