Which path would you like ShadowNAND and SaltFW to have?

There was a thread here about some kid who was worried about that. It was a half-joking post. ;p

A better reason that's kind of related to that situation is if you wanted to sell your a9lh system to a store and didn't have a clean backup.
I don't have a clean backup at all lol I accidentally deleted mine

I don't think using the Nintendo 3DS folder is good idea. If anything goes wrong with a homebrew, I don't want it to potentially affect all my games and saves.
Personally I'd prefer it all to go into the Nintendo 3DS folder, it's more discrete and I don't think it adds any risk at all, were all backing up our ad anyways, aren't we?

for me the latest version are a little buggy the home menu without sd are trensparency and the folder for the installer for me are always homebrew/a9LH

v0.8 introduced some minor bugs so you can install that one if you so wish. Or wait a little longer because I'm working on 0.85 right now
Thanks a lot! I'll wait then. This + Luma + CBM9 will be perfect for my needs. Soon Luma won't be needed, right? :P And one more question, I know I need to pathchange Luma to work with this, but are there any on-3DS Luma updaters which do the pathchanging for its updates as well?

I haven't used Luma for a very long time so I personally wouldn't know.

AFAIK Luma patches AGB and TWL to allow GBA and DSiWare. If you stop using Luma you can't play those games (but maybe you can manually patch)

I know, I've been thinking on switching to SaltFW, but I have a lot of questions regarding that one and I don't want to throw them in this thread.

Feel free to ask as SaltFW is the official companion CFW to ShadowNAND until ShadowNAND can stand on its own.

OK, then...

How does it set the CPU speed on a N3DS?
Does it have ErrDisp patching?
Does FIRM protection apply in SAFE_MODE as well?
Do GBA games show the GBA BIOS boot screen?
Does it have version string patching? (doesn't really matter, just curious)

And now a ShadowNAND question: How does that treat SAFE_MODE updates on its own? Patches FIRM, blocks the launching SAFE_MODE entirely or something else?
Phew, that's a lot of questions, feel free to answer when you have the time.

1) It doesn't have CPU speed patches and won't have it until per-game CPU speed is possible.
2) SaltFW v3.0 and onwards have ErrDisp.
3) Yes.
4) No because it caused issues with some injected games.
5) No.

If you're not using SaltFW/Luma3DS (payloadless/SDless boot), ShadowNAND will refuse to launch SAFE_MODE.

Thanks again, sounds perfect. Will switch to SaltFW when 0.85 comes out. Does the ErrDisp patch offer a console shutdown?

Please read the last sentence again.
I said you can go into safe_mode if you're using SaltFW/Luma3DS.

Sadly, no.
