Uh, it is linked to the hardware? Why would you think a new NAND wouldn't identify as the same wii?
I've never really looked into it that much. Things like region changing affect your ability to connect, so it seemed like it would be related to the NAND. I'll just take your word for it.

Anyway, even if it doesn't affect the Shopping Channel, I still listed reasons people wouldn't want to jump right into a fresh NAND.

Settings Editor GUI v1.1 is almost ready for release. I've already sent PM's to Wever, Category, hvckz, and mauifrog since they offered to test it before, but I'm always happy for more testers.

It has 3 major changes:
1) It displays properly in 576i
2) You can now CHANGE to 576i
3) You can turn WiiConnect24 on and off
It could work for NTSC screens? the 576i?

Lol, why are you responding to a post from last year?

Just a small update:
  • Fixed 576i display for real this time instead of forcing 480i/480p.
  • It now uses a new method to detect an emunand that works with new versions of NEEK.

Could it work for NTSC screens?
Unless you have converted your Wii to PAL, you won't even get the option. Most NTSC TV's don't support it anyway.

Can I change the internet settings with a semibrick? (The console was european, and updated with an american CoD game)
It's in the 4.2 version.

I've never tried it, but I doubt it. I would appreciate it if you would test it for me.

Once you are done, follow this guide from start to finish, including the region changing part. It will resoftmod your Wii and fix the semibrick.

This happened: It was on a black screen, I heard the wii menu sound for 2 seconds, it loaded the game disc (getting rid of the wii menu sound), and it just stayed on that black screen, without sound.

Too bad, it would have been cool if it worked. Go ahead and follow that guide to fix your Wii.

Looks like I forgot to mention the v1.5 update on here (I included details in the changelog), but I've just released v1.6, which, unless I think of new things to add or someone finds a bug, will probably be the last update.
  • It now uses truetype font instead of bitmap font.
  • You can use your own font with a theme, just put font.ttf in "/ploader/theme/" or "/ploader/SE_theme/"
  • I finally updated the icon. It's much nicer than the old one.
  • grlib/grrlib has been updated.
  • Pressing HOME now exits without saving.
  • Minor code cleanup

Will Nintendo's NTSC menus and channels work correct in PAL modes anyway? It'd be interesting to find out if their official GUI is even compatible with them.

No it doesn't, they use a USB dongle. Only guitar hero guitars (and their cheap knock-off copies) use the wiimote.
Well that sucks. I guess it saves you from having to buy a new Wii remote, but how are you supposed to play 4 player with 2 USB slots?

Does any other homebrew let you control things with the RB guitar like the GH one?

The dongle is a USB hub. The non-wireless guitars also have a USB port on them (so you can play xzibit style - with guitars plugged into your guitar).

AFAIK no.
