GCN Setting up Gamcube PSO & BBA exploit

It's been a few years since I had the Gamecube with PSO (Phantasy Star Online) and BBA (Broadband adapter) setup.
I'm looking for links with instructions on making the most out of the exploit.
I hear I can soft mode my Cube to play copies?
How is the streaming? Is the speed better? What's the best software/setup?
What choices give the best compatibility?
