Hacking Setting up a new R4i3D "2012"

Alright, so I just got a couple new R4i3D cards in the mail that I plan on giving out as gifts to family members. They're this kind:

So how exactly should it be set up? Do I just simply download the woodr4 v1.42 firmware from http://www.r4i3d.com/index.htm?c=gamekernel ? Or do I need to run one of the updates from http://www.r4i3d.com/index.htm?l=en_US ?

By the way, I'm looking to use these on the DS Lite, DSi and the 3DS. Hopefully the set-up is the same for all.

It has the Wood kernel UI and you can use Retro's DAT updates you know?

Did you get the flash card set up, or should I call Buleste?

I too have this card and it gets stuck on "loading" or a double white screen just past loading.

I've used the panasonic format program on my sd card and I have tried the top 2 kernels on the left (link) as my card has "2012" on it.

...so after learning what fw I had, I downloaded this one from r4i3d.com

...re formatted my sd carb and tried again... I get the loading screen followed by two white screens.

In the zip file there are two things.
_rpg folder & _DS_MENU.dat file. I've tried copying them to the card just like that, I've also tried copying the contents of the _rpg folder directly to the card and I'm at a loss.

I've modded XBoxes, PSP's, PS2's, Wiis... but this one has me stumped!

Low and behold I got it working!

I dug around until I found a rar that worked. I renamed and reuploaded it if anyone having issues with this card would like to try it. Again, I am using the above mentioned handhelds and my XL is on 1.4.1u fw.

Can you please reupload the RAR that worked for you because megaupload link isn't working. My friend is having this same problem, I told him the card is shitty but he's a penny pincher and would rather get th is card fixed.
