Just one thing to add:

First of all, you need a linux system (at least for the server side), preferably Debian-based such as Ubuntu. I have not tried a virtual machine for this.

WSL (2?) might work here, too (not tested through, so no guarantees).

I actually tried this too now that I think about it, I usually use WSL when I can. I couldn't control my wifi-card in that environment, probably due to drc-sims rather aggressive ADHOC implementation. I'll add that to my post, thanks!
