Currently, I purchased a USB C to microUSB cable until I figured out that this cable is not compatible with Redako. Therefore I would likely to know, if it could use it on my ESP8266 to send out payloads. There are only outdated information about PegaSwitch I have seen so far.

The esp8266 doesn't have USB host mode hardware included. So it will not work out of the box.
You could use something like the ESPUSB software stack to write something yourself & you would also have to solder from pins to a D+ and D- on a USB plug. Much easier/faster getting a trinket m0 or a teensy or any mcu that has build in USB host.
