I bash the hell out of the GBA emulator due to the lack of updates, but mine has never lagged before and I have horrible class 2 microSD cards.
As well even with the Retro's updates (which's he's doing a great job with BTW) it still doesn't change the fact that it's not a card worth buying or honestly not worth crying over when it fails. It has always been at the bottom of the food chain and always will be down there. No amount of game fixes is going change that.
That may be from your standpoint, but
mine is the card itself helps a lot, download play and homebrew compatibility (thanks to RGF, again) is one of the best, the rest is pure fanboyism andor preference, also, bashing people because they're not agre with you could cost you a
report, like I saw recently.
I own an Acekard2i and besides the features I said above (except GBA because of ds2 availability only) the card works nearly as fine as a DSTT would do, except a few features.
