Seiken Densetsu is a japanese RPG/Action Adventure series that is known in the west as the Mana series. Square Enix has announced that three games of that series are coming to the Switch this June in Japan in form of a collection.

The collection includes

- Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (known as Final Fantasy Adventure / Mystic Quest /Sword of Mana)

- Seiken Densetsu 2 (known as Secret of Mana)

- Seiken Densetsu 3 (Didn't get a western release at all, but was nonetheless known as Secret of Mana 2 here)

Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 will retain their 3 player multiplayer mode and support save states. There will also be a jukebox where you can listen to the soundtrack. Release is June 1st and price is 4800 Yen. Remember that the Switch is region-free. You will have to create a japanese Nintendo account and link it with your Switch in order to access the japanese eShop.

Buying this for sure. Announced.
Specially Seiken Densetsu 3.
Please. Translate/localize.

PS: Fuck that game was good, and I only did it with one specific group of three people. There is a lot more for me there.

Nice! It would be nice if they went the extra mile to put more games into the collection. Maybe it's because they're not called "Seiken Densetsu". Legend of Mana and the like.
Also, Sword of Mana for the GBA is a remake of the first Seiken Densetsu.

A great title(s) to import. I played Seiken Densetsu 3 with the fan-translated patch, but I still have 3 more characters to use.

Gotta love how the merchants just dance crazily and you open chests by shaking them then smashing them on the ground.

This collection is nice, but these are titles that could be VC games,
I think this collections should be $25 at max 4800 yen is a bit expensive for it.
Also I rather wait to see if this will get localized

4800 yen (roughly $42.91 right now) is quite a bit expensive, especially when you consider that VC pricing at $8 per SNES and $4 per GB, it's over double the price than if you got the 3 games individually as VC. This makes me worried that "collection"-based VC sets are going to be abused on Switch.

There's no reason they shouldn't have it archived. Unless they're not that organized.

Well, you're talking about the company who couldn't even port FF7 to Steam properly, using the 1998 version music until enough people complained. They finally relented and included the PSX OST in a patch.

Yeah that's a bit worrisome.

Square Enix and PC has always been concerning. Looking at that, though? The whole collection has me worried. Seems to me that collections released nowadays have some problems.. Due to laziness and dirty ports.

Hm.. The price isn't helping much either.

Are the three games the only thing the collection comes with? No OST? If so that's kinda disappointing. I still want it for my mana collection though

I'll play Seiken Densetsu 3 on my Wii U, perfectly emulated on Snes9x and translated. Sure it's not exactly legal, but SE isn't gonna translate it either so, what other choice do I have? I guess there's those reproduction carts that have the translated ROM, but those are expensive.

Hopefully a english translation appears.

I play Seiken Densetsu 2 +3 every year, so definitely a must buy.
To bad that the franchise cant create great games like these afterwards, the later mana games were at most ok.
