I remember something a while ago that replaced your firmware and then required a password to reboot into it. But really, the whole idea is silly as it would be incredibly easy to bypass.

Well, Moonshell2 has a password thing (press a series of keys in a sequence) that begins when you turn it on (and if Moonshell2 is on autoboot, then that would be one of the first things that happen when you turn on your DS). The only problem is that its easy to take off (stick the mSD card in the computer and erase the part that says "Password" xD). It would work fine as long as people don't know that the password is in the moonshell2's ini file.

Interesting idea with the Moonshell thing, but essentially this only locks the microSD of the flash cart, not the DS itself.
The firmware hack sounds more secure, but not entirely plausible.

Well thats a little over board ^^

I know most carts have a autoboot feature so mabye you could make a program that autoboots and asks for a password(If you dont know how to program you could use DSGM, I made one for DSGM 3.0 but lost the source after I got a virus)

DSGM??!!
are you serious???M is for Make DS Game right?

It's not all that great ;p, you have to pay for the pro version... You can simply learn C/C++ and build DS homebrew with devkitpro & PAlib.

Anyways back to the main topic :
There was a homebrew app where you were able to lock you're flash card but i forgot what it was called.
It should be on FileTrip somewhere.
