So, about a year ago I made an account on SL. Played for a few minutes (literally) and then went straight to delete account. Now I logged in and it's on hold. Why? I was a free user. I don't have anything wrong with a held account if I'm sure I don't need to pay anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

some websites will put the account on hold, one very good example is facebook. if you ask for deletion, it will take 15 days until your account is really "offline" (not saying gone because i dont believe they will crawl the backups and have the work to really delete anything)

this is to prevent someone to login in your account and delete it without your concern.. even if you were a new player who created an account a few days ago.. (they are not racist against noobs) this gives you a change of getting your account back in case if someone had access to your account..

that seems weird, check on their terms and conditions, maybe they have a policy of never delete the accounts, if that's the case, it will be on that state.. but you can contact them, and asking them about it, saying you are worried about privacy etc blablabla whatever your reasons are, and want the account really gone, hopefully they let it die in peace

(it looks like the account is dead, but its on earth wandering searching for the light lel)

you never need to pay for delete an account...
    that would be blackmail...

only on subscription cases like phone plans that we had on my country you have to pay for for get rid of it.. if you subscribe you get the first 3 months for free but you have a contract for next 24 months, if you want to quit you have to pay for the months you used + the 21 months you where supposed to use the service.. it's clearly a rip off, but you agreed with it...
