I was today in my local electronic store (mediamarkt) and tried every sd card reader they had - no luck. How do I see if the card reader is compatible? Should I see the 3ds's nand in a partition manager program as a new device (So I could technically format it, of course I won't)?

If someone could send a german amazon link with a 100% compatible card reader, that would be nice - thx!

Use Win32 Disk Imager to read and write the NAND but never format it or you will have a bad day.

Another problem - but now a problem with win32diskimager; It always starts with error 1 but it still starts but there are no devices I could choose

EDIT: same happens with another pc, same error. On both systems is win10 x64

this happens, even if no sd card/3ds emmc is inserted
--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

May I do the nand dump via linux with dd or something similar? with instructions I'd try it

Try shutting down and rebooting I can only assume something was unplugged but never safely ejected and the PC still thinks its connected even though its not.

even if I deactivate all cardreader and cd drive error code still appears

another question - could I technically damage the 3ds if I try different sd card reader?

OMG IT WORKS - a random card reader starts to dump the 3ds - just lol
