(If you don't know what SE7EN is, it is a skin for Moonshell 2)
A little development story for all of you. You can grab a copy of the latest RELEASE in my sig.
SE7EN started out as a project in early 2009. You see, I was a freak for the "aero" interface. I wanted it everywhere. I wanted it on my PC, DS, Phone, etc. However, all the AK2 Vista skins were ugly and underdeveloped. Also, there were barely any aero Moonshell 2 skins at the time. So I said to myself "Screw those guys, why not make your own?"
I worked on SE7EN mostly in the video player. It was mostly copied off of Windows Media Player 11. I used the default skin as a base, and after fiddling around with it for a while, I managed to get a nice looking video player.
I then told myself "What's with the |>| buttons? They're really dark! And plus, the stop button looks like crap!"
So I shined up the left and right buttons, and added a new stop button.
Not bad, eh?
Anyway, I was pretty satisfied by then. I was like "hey, it's WMP11 on my DS!" But then I thought about it for a while, and said "hey, this looks a lot like the default skin but simply recolored". The skin was just as blocky and boring as the default one.
So then I looked at Windows Media Player again and I noticed the "shine" that the player had. I threw it on, and tada, it looks great!
(Animusic 2 is great, by the way, you should get a copy).
I thought it looked great now, but then I noticed that the colors clashed a lot. The scrollbar, or whatever you call it, simply didn't match the shiny part. It just looked bad.
So I moved the colors around some more and got this.
(YES, I WATCH MOVIES ON MY DS. EAT IT.)
Anyway, it looked better, but I thought "hey, it doesn't really fit". So I got creative and did some cool stuff.
I move the "scrollbar" down underneath the time to make it closer to the rest of the body. Then, I filled in the top with the classic WMP11 top-bar.
That is all for now. Expect a release soon!
