Yeah... I'm a hypocrite that way: I'm very aware that Leopold 2 was a monster. Happy? It won't stop my criticism, and frankly... You essentially allot I'm more of an expert, even though that all happened long before I was born.

... Or you could read what I initially said about China and draw a conclusion.

Couple of fallacies there. The "tu quoque" fallacy, which is basically saying "you too" to the other person while not addressing the original issue.

It's also using the genetic fallacy which is similar, but is rejecting the argument based on the source rather than the merrit.

Honestly, that comment is about as effective as an IDF solder saying nobody can complain about what they're doing because the Germans did something similar too.

Why is it necessary to investigate the "moral high ground" of people if the baseless rumours are false? It just seems like a weird tangent. Ad hominem and all that.

Like, is China completely immune to accusations of this kind so long as the person bringing it up is not from a country with a spotless record? That's a good trick. Which country is valid for you?
Surely not even China, given they once lied about the existence of the camps altogether. Now they admit they exist, just for a different claimed purpose. But "I was lying before and not now" isnt the most convincing to me.

That is...not how ad hominem works, not even if you were China, as in the literal country China posting here.

But if you consider criticism of China as an attack on yourself, yeah, I doubt I'll get any meaningful response. I was curious if you had a take on any of the evidence, or even the demonstrable fact that China has changed its story over time, but nevermind. Run along.
