Hope someone can help with this. I've just got hold of my first PS Vita slim, it is on 3.68 f/w and I've modded it with henkaku. No problems so far

I am trying to add extra storage using sd2vita which I thought would be just as straight forward but evidently not!! I followed a couple of guides and a video tutorial trying both storagemgr and gamesd, I've checked and double checked every step but once installed and after rebooting, I try to restart henkaku and the vita just goes to a black screen and shuts down. The only way I can get back into the system with henkaku running is to reset the config in h-encore.

I'm tearing my hair out at this point and have no idea what I am doing wrong.

One of the guides I followed:

http://wololo.net/2017/07/20/setting-sd2vita-adapter-formatting-microsd-can-done-windows/

I have absolutely no idea what else to try.

PS: The micro sd card is good, previously used in a PSP with no issues.

I am using H-encore and I have tried storagemgr with the same result.

The vita just shuts down no matter what I try. Somebody on reddit suggested a faulty sd2vita card but I am just trying any alternatives before ordering another one

No, not boot loop. I add the line to config.txt under Kernel then reboot the console. Upon reboot I open H-encore and start henkaku, after it finishes I click exit and the screen goes black and the vita shuts down completely

Might be the adapter, you got another SD card to test with?

Possibly the adapter, I have tested this sd card in my psp and it works fine.

I'm just going through all the steps in the thread you linked above doing everything all over again. If it doesn't work this time and there is nothing else to try then it must be the adapter.

Any suggestions for a reliable source of adapters?

Did you wrote zzblank.img file with win32discimager to your microSD before using it in adapter?
Also try mount it as uma0 in storagemgr to see if it actually works. You should be able to see it in vitashell.

zzblank.img: Yes

"Also try mount it as uma0 in storagemgr to see if it actually works.": This part I have no clue about.

Its a slim, pch 2016 model

This is the one I got. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SD2VITA-...790692?hash=item2392dcab64:g:-JgAAOSwucVbSPMf

I am from the UK so the one you linked isn't available to me. Don't know if the one I bought is any good though

These adapter are mass produce so some of them would be bad. Even from the person I bought the first SD2Vita from, he had some bad batch that didn't work for other. Did you check the soldering point when you insert into the game card slot?

I've followed all the steps on the help thread and it appears to be working now, I must have missed a step.

I have another minor issue though now. The bubbles on my main screen for H-encore, vitashell and any other homebrew items I have installed are just blank white circles. No icons at all.

Any idea what happened to them?

Can you access the imc0?

Yes I can open the bubbles.

Never mind, rebuild database solved the problem for me.

I now have a working, modded ps vita with 16gb sd card. Need to get a bigger card but all good now.

Thanks for all your help guys. Just need to figure out where to put stuff now.:yaypsp:
