So, last friday I got a GC with Picoboot already installed, it had Swiss, and older version, from two years ago I think, and I decided to upate it. I back up the original files, and everything seem to work fine for a moment (everything works fine for like 15 minutes, you can play and all that) then every game I launched started rebooting to the screen on the video and then to Swiss (sometimes when I just started them, or a minute at most) but, after a while, it simply got stuck on that kind of booting loop. I've tried different versions of Swiss, other SD cards, different ISOs an I get the same result. Is it possible this might be related to the SD2SP2, or something else? One thing I noticed was: with the original version of Swiss I got, if I removed the SD2SP2 it would boot to the normal GC menu, but after updating, it stopped doing that. I also went back to the original back up I made, and still the same.

TLDR Thing number one to do would be to just plain format everything. If you've already done that, check on the connections on your Picoboot.

Sometimes the adapter is finicky and doesn't like to work. If that's the case, you may need another one. Just a quick google search shows reports of a lot of similar things happening on Reddit with different fixes. I recommend formats first, check on your picoboot, clean out the SP2 slot, check all the connections, and try again. If all else fails, time to buy a new one :/

Thanks mate, yes, I suspect the sd2sp2 might be faulty, because it did not do this when I first got it, but I am guessing the guys that installed it simply check it it run and that's it. I've already ordered 2 new sd2sp2 and two gc2sd, this one specifically:

I am guessing is the same as the one I have:

and if not, I would try the gc2sd. If that fails, then to check the picoboot. I just need to wait like 2 months for the parts to arrive.

general question, isnt there some kind of log file from swiss that might shed some light on this?

If you enable creating logs for debugging. Hopefully the new parts do work. GC2SD works really well from my experience, but that's because I'm lucky enough to have a hackable game to run things off of (Splinter Cell wooooo). Hopefully the SD2SP2 works when it comes in though.

the gc2sd works only with a hackable game? I can't just plug in and get it working with the picoboot already installed?

Hello
you may ask for help at gc-forever.com.
You'll find there emu_kidid and citrus3000psi, creators of swiss and original SD2SP2.
