Problem : Bought 3ds on ebay. SD Write protection error.

I did some troubleshooting and to make sure it wasn't the SD card / System corruption.

I'm quite sure the issue lies withing the SD card socket.

I'm assuming the pin on the right controls the write protection. Should i bend it up or down to resolve my issue?

[Called nintendo as well, they pretty much told me to pound salt and wouldn't release any information on which pin controls write protection]

It'll have a spring or mechanical switch over the SD's write protection switch. Bend that one toward the card.

I'm guess that's the thing i see hanging on the side that looks like a pin .
Down it goes then. Will report back in a few / try to get a picture.

A stack of bagels to hold my phone light, a paper clip , some reading glasses and the sage advice of Mikemk.
The issue has been resolved. I feel like damn MacGyver.
Thanks a ton.
