Sorry if this has been answered else where on the forums but couldn't anything like this issue.

I bought 64GB SDXC card for Wii games. I formatted using fat32format.

The format tool succeeds in formatting to 64GB, however, it does not actually give me that much space, its hacked down to 28 (32GB?) instead. Under file explorer it shows it as 32, and Disk Management (Win10) shows it as 32GB.

I tried the card in another Win10 system, file explorer shows 32GB but this time Disk Management shows 64GB.......odd.

Is there a trick to getting the full usable 64GB (well, 58-59ishGB)

I remember the first time this happened to me but with a 128gb USB drive a few years ago.

hmm, so my Mac, which is bootcamped to Win10, will only read the card @ 64GB if its exFAT. When it's formatted to FAT32 it drops to 26GB and usable (works on the Wii U). If I format using Easus it will only see 26GB even after deleting the partition. So i tried my other Win10 system, everything works fine there, can see the full 64GB, format as FAT32 (64Kb) and then copy the games back to it.....but then the Wii U reports SD Mount failed. Sigh, seems I get one step forward finally to be kicked back again.

SD Formatter (as suggested above does not work - says either drive or card is not supported by the software.

Don't use EaseUS partition manager! Use Minitool Partition Wizard 9. I formatted my two 64GB SDXC cards with that software to Fat32, 64kb cluster size.
Also, make sure your reader supports SDXC cards!

So after multiple partition managers and different ways of formatting I gave up and bought another brand SD and new USB card reader, boom, first go and its working. Tried the old card with the new reader as well, still doesn't work. So something off about that card. Oh well, 64GB were on sale, so no real loss in the end.

Thanx for all the suggestions folks.
