So I've been using StockInformer and I just purportedly successfully ordered a Switch on Amazon for retail price. I have a launch switch that is very homebrewed. I will be making a new account and trying my best to keep this new one legit so I can play games online. I have an old 128GB microSD card I previously used in my hacked switch about a year ago that I will be FORMATTING to fat32 with 32KB clusters, and I wanted to know if that's safe to use in my new Switch or if I need to buy a new one. That's it. If I need a new one I'll get a new one; I can probably use the old one for something else anyway. I'm just wondering if it's 100% safe or not?

It would be fine to use even if you didn't reformat it. But you definitely should reformat it anyways, to get back all the space lost by CFW files.

It'll basically be a new SD card, totally wiped clean by reformatting. You'll be fine to use it.

If the SD card is empty and clean, why would you need a new one? As TheCasualties said, formatting it just to claim back the space that the CFW was using would be a good idea, but even without that it's fine to use it.

Thank you for your replies. I was hoping I could use that card. Of course, I found another 128GB on Amazon from Sandisk for 20$, so I ordered that as well. I needed an extra one anyway.

I don't think this Switch should be banned for anything within the normal usage I end up using it for; it's the HAC-001(-01) model, so there shouldn't be any shenanigans.

I made a new Nintendo account yesterday with a new email and user name. Just to ease my mind: are there any other steps I might take to stay legit?

And thanks again for answering my original question guys.
