Since SD cards are getting very cheap, I'm considering putting all my games on a 128GB SD card instead of a hard drive. Is this possible, and if so, how does it affect performance? Anyone try it?

there where conflicting reports of fat32 formated sdxc cards working
search the forum for details

usb sticks are another option
they should be cheaper than a sd card

or use an sd/usb adapter

I think SDXC cards have worked for some, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g8HSDybeEE

The SDXC cards available just now are not "true" SDXC they are actually SDHC cards. The 32GB limit of SDHC is artificial. So as long as you format the card to FAT32 you be fine (they come as exFAT).

Cool, so it seems it will work. Now I'm interested in performance. Has anyone tried using SD cards for backup loading a lot? Is there any noticeable difference in speed?
