Got the Wii/WODE/Gecko ready and waiting looking forward to this app only thing better would be if anyone chose to add wode support to existing loaders.

Doesn't WODE have usb to connect a HDD to and has a display and buttons to select the .iso? I mean doesn't it already allow to play all GC games from HDD without the need of running homebrew on Wii?

wode runs GC games from HDD but the loading is as slow as having to insert a disc wait for disc channel and boot there is an autoboot option but that can be a pain also it does not support streaming audio so hopefully those few games will boot from SD with SD-boot. Then there's the region issues with 4.2 if the existing HB wode menu was mixed into Neogamma or gecko it would be fantastic.

WODE doesn't play games that stream audio? That's stupid, it's known for years that it's a problem for most stuff launching backups, and i expected the WODE team to have fixed that in the very 1st release of the hardware/firmware.

NeoGamma can launch GC homebrew from sd card if a GC disc is inserted. It could be changed to an own menu option, but that would need some people really wanting it. And i don't even know if it would help WODE users.

streaming audio will never be fixed on the wode.

Unfortunately streaming audio is not supported

There just aren't enough pins on the FPGA (the chip that interfaces Wode to the Wii) to have streaming audio and passthrough/disk ripping mode. We spent a lot of time trying to get around this limitation but we are stuck with it - most users will probably agree it was the correct choice

Streaming audio is audio (typically background music) that plays directly from the disk instead of being synthesized/played back from game data by the GC itself.

Explain it for me yes? Please.

does the SD-gecko support sdhc?
Yes, it does. At least my 4GB Kingston uSD worked with it.

BTW, SD-boot04.dol launchs in my wii trough HBC and WiiXplorer, but it doesn't repond to GC controller iinputs and stays in the app screen with the msg "select slota and pres A".
Any idea?

GCBooterHomebrew, or something like this? "can't load start.dol". Start.dol is the sd-boot.dol renamed in the root.

I believe you need to patch the MIOS using the included patcher. Either that or you use Wiigator's cMIOS

If we need SD Gecko, then why don't just use USB Gecko. The SD is way too limited by its capacity.
or If some bothers buying this stuff, then just ignore the GC Games and hope someday some of them are remade in Wii .

SD Geckos are much cheaper than an USB Gecko .. for example, you can buy one here for around 4 dollars: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3993

And for running SD-Boot on the Wii, NeoGamma can run an alternative DOL when a GC disc is inserted. GC Homebrew Launcher didn't work for me, always asks for a disc in the drive. NeoGamma works perfectly

You can use a USB Gecko on Gamecube games on a Wii, its just somewhat difficut (basically you need an SD-Gecko and a GC Action Replay Disc that works on your firmware/region or Datel's Max Media Launcher which comes with an adapter), you use the Action Replay/Media Launcher to launch the gamecube Gecko OS dol from the adapter (which has to be in slot A or it won't be detected), swap the SD Gecko for the USB Gecko and run your Gamecube Disc from there (probably won't run Backups unless you've patched your MIOS though (or you're using a disc redirect like the WODE), the Gecko loaders are for cheats/import/homebrw launching not for backups). You can find the dol (and these instructions) on the WiiRD forums.

@snikerz: is dealextreme reliable, their price seems soo cheap !
I'm planning to buy a classic controller pro, is it worth ?

What's the impact on the speed like, using SD-Boot versus a backup and retail disc?
I want to know if I should even bother.

I placed around 50 orders at DX, never had any problems

It takes some time for the package to arrive, but it's awesomely cheap and mostly worth the money.
