Gaming Save file question

Hi!

well, i was wondering if anybody knew why i cannot load a save file downloaded from elsewhere. It just starts a new game everytime instead of reading the file.

Also, I was wondering (sorry if its extremely noobish) how to use the cheats in the .dat file. I am not sure if thre has to be an '[0]' or an '[X]' in order for the cheat to work xD

oh...yeah, it is my first time attempting to cheat/short-cut my way. Getting a munchlax is just too hard! =(

Have you checked if the .sav file is the same name as your .nds rom?

As for the cheats, what cart are you using. The file must be compatible with your cart you know. And if its for pokemon, you can use pokesav for cheating.

ah yes, i make sure the name's the same for both the .nds and .sav file...but sadly they don't play =\

i'm using the R4 ultra or R4. Pokesav? what is that and how does it work?

Have you converted the saves? http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php

If that doesn't solve it, then perhaps the save you downloaded was for a different language of the game.

yup i did =)

but it didn't work (both R4 ultra and R4) and i made sure that my version of the game (U) was the same as the save file...

What game is it and where did you download the save from?

Pokemon Platinum/Diamond

The save was from gamefaqs =P
Diamond save file
Platinum save file

I thought so. Pokemon DS saves from GameFAQs don't work, sorry.

The reason being that the only way to upload is a save is to use an AR Max Duo, but it corrupts Pokemon saves because the size is too large. Trust me, since I have an AR Max Duo and tried many times to make the saves work.

You can start a new game and use PokeSav to edit your save file.
