I've identified the offset for JP for the freelancer job (had to start a new save file after conversion, so only had that one). 0000C032.

The value is 2x the JP you have in that job, so 4=2; 8=4; C=6. Successfully edited to 62 (98, 49) and Freelancer changed to Lv. 2 19/70; then edited to 1027 (10000. 5000) and Freelancer changed to Lv. 9 2500/3500; then to 90E2 for Mastered!

To max a normal job, set JP to 80BB. To max Freelancer, set JP to 90E2.

Anyone else interested in this game care to share anything?

Also, thanks whoever made ftpony -- if not for that my SD card cover would probably be broken for too much use.

EXP seems to be stored in multiple locations...

    1524-1526 and BFFA-BFFC

After setting both to 98967F Tiz is lv. 99

Even though he's lv. 99 HP is only 7734.

EXP for Agnes looked like it was at 155A-155C but didn't change when edited, may also be stored in a second location or something.

Does the save of this game use checksums?

No, it's really nice; just search, edit, save.

    That's... I don't know how I feel about that.
My question is, aren't saves encrypted?

Off topic, I'm just wondering if there is any JRPG game which I can edit save (means we don't need to do checksum)? except BD and Fantasy Life.

try them....just dump the save make a backup copy edit something and load it back up....if it doesn't work just restore your original dump

Waaaaaait just a sec there. There is a method to decrypt and encrypt saves? Doesn't that mean you can change a rom's header and keep the save?

If you install the game as a CIA, it doesn't contain a header (from what I was told)
So you may be able to import any save (card 2 games only maybe)

Download the SaveDataFiter csu-cia conversion.zip and the SaveDataFiler.csu (mine shows modified 9/23/2013). Use the stuff in the .zip to convert .csu to .cia, then install with devmenu.

No, they need to be repacked without the DEVkeys.
It's not about Card 1 or 2 it's about where (and how?) it saves. Fantasy life is a card 1 for example, but saves to the SD so savedatafiler can edit it. Other card 1 games show up as broken I think because of Gateways current save technique which makes them incompatible. Card 2 games which save internally do all work so far though. (Animal crossing should work if you know where to edit. I have been unsuccessful so far trying to give myself bells)

This took a stupid amount of time and I lost interest, if that's not enough PG for you, do it again when you run out or figure out the next step yourself. Sorry for rambling descriptions, I honestly don't think I can explain it any better, pretty much just trial and error.

Money: Recommended 0x0000BEEA-BEED 00FFFF4F=4,194,300pg out of 9,999,999 max
Ex: Want/have 262,481 pg, anything not divisible by 4 or over 65536(10000h after division) gets separated.
    0x0000BEEA 40 (1x40h=40h)
    0x0000BEEB-C 5400 (84 after 262480/4=65620-65536=84=0054h=5400h)
0x0000BEED 41 (Not sure what the 40h is but the 1 is each 10000h of amount, so 41h=10000h, 42h=20000h, etc. I guess 50h=100000h is the next logical step after 4Fh=F0000h, but I'm not sure)

    Items:
0x0000B6F0 area, no idea what's going on around here, just know its the items, and goes a little like this:
    Potion?(B6FA) have 11=D342, have 12=1343, have 13=5343, ..., have 64=1350

    Villagers:
    COLONY0.sav
    0x00000004 Up to 80h=128
    0x00000005 10h=128, 20h=256, 30h=384, etc.
Thus 6770h=999 Villagers, though I have 8060h=896 so I'm just guessing, 896 was more than enough for me.
