On Monday, SanDisk announced its new microSD high-capacity (microSDHC) card that offers up to 16GB in storage space. While 16GB doesn't sound like a huge deal compared with other media that offer hundreds of gigabytes, this is actually very significant for two reasons. First, microSD cards are by far the smallest in size among consumer storage devices--about the size of your little finger's nail. Second, it's also the most popular media for smartphones and PDAs, and it is becoming more popular thanks to its tiny size.

Any news from the developers on whether the current flash cards will support them? (Super, cyclo etc)

If it's SDHC, it should

I'm pretty sure the Cyclo will support them. After all, it's SDHC compatible, so I don't see how 16Gb will make a difference as long as it's still SDHC.

But here's my question... why would you want a 16Gb card for your Cyclo? I mean, really...unless you want like every game on the DS... I have an 8Gig and it's not even half way full and I've ran out of stuff to put in it. I guess if you don't have an iPod or something and use your DS as an iPod...

Indeed, and don't forget that the DS can emulate a lot of consoles.

And it can also play movies. I personally have a 4GB, and it's crammed with NDS games, GBÂ games, NES games and SNES games.
I also have some homebrew and a few porn movies

Yeah, a 4gb I can understand. Even an 8Gb. But I think 16Gb is just pushing it xD Ah well, to each their own. Maybe it seems useless for me because I have a PSP, DS, and an iPod, so I got all my stuff in separate memory cards. (All my emulators and stuff are on PSP, and all my music is on the iPod, so the DS is just basically for nds only)

Yeah, you really only need 4GB. Anything more than that is overkill. If you fill your card and something new comes out that you just gotta have, delete one of the ROMs you haven't played in a long time.

I have been waiting for these cards for months. It's hard for me to delete games I like, there is about 9-10 gb of roms I usually play. If I get a 16 gb, I can have all of my favorite roms and maybe fill the rest with music. My 8gbs usually have 5gb of roms and 2gb of music or the other way around.

These 16gb cards are class 2, slow for something like my supercard. I need a good flashcard like the cyclo to get full speed perhaps.
