That sounds like anti-piracy tools, which is pretty much the opposite of what it does.

I've personally been calling it rxPasta, giving credit to Roxas75 still, but then AHP_person is kinda left out.

rxAHPasta? :P

now that you put it that way your right lol

It appears GBA games also have to have a copy on sysnand to work on emunand. (emunand does not have to be linked with sysnand). If I start a GBA game on emunand that's not also installed to sysnand, it won't boot.

Good so apparently I wasn't just being a retard. That's what seemed to be the case.

@AHP_person if I decrypt NATIVE_FIRM of 9.0/9.2 and then re-encrypt it as downloaded by cdn_firm.exe (titlekey as per the cetk and IV 00000049000000000000000000000000), will rxTools and your patches load that firmware.bin up?

The patches wouldn't work on an older firm, and rxTools checks the firm it's using before injecting it and patching it.

Is the renaming really necessary? It's still rxTools in every way except for the signature check patch. And naming it after Pasta doesn't make much sense, cause there's still no sauce.
I think a little change is necessary, like rxtools+

AHP should/will name it because it will get annoying and frustrating trying to discuss this version of rxTools.

Can someone helpme plz, i do all the steps to transform my emunand palantine 4.5 to RX, extract NAND and inject EmuNAND. I Boot into RXTools with mset and works fine signature patch work and i have all the games like the old CFW. Then I update RX Nand to 9.8, from system RX its say gonna restart. Restart and boot in 4.5 old again launch MSET to enter RXTools and when i push launch RX and 3ds stay in a black screen :S. Sorry my bad english.

Will you consider possibly open sourcing the method you used to decrypt, patch, and recrypt? Pwease. ^^ Would love to tinker with it as do many others I'm sure.

Just to confirm what Apache said.

To use custom GBA games, you must install a copy of the CIA into sysNAND AND emuNAND.
The patched AGB_FIRM only has to be installed into emuNAND though. You can leave sysNAND AGB_FIRM stock.

I don't think Apache has said what you asked, either way, I would like to know also.

Look back a page:

This was the problem I've been having all day. If I removed the CIA from sysNAND, I couldn't launch it from emuNAND.

I'm gonna add this info to the OP

So I'm new to this, I have a sysnand on 9.2 and an emunand on 9.8. I don't have ninjhax/Gateway/any other flashcarts.
Apparently downgrading to 4.x is the only way to get a CIA installer and I don't have anything other than my 3DS.
Is there a chance for my 3DS to get bricked?
