Thanks to all our supporters!

Great news, though since the System Menu Installed from the Changer disk was the same as the "fake" wad, I think it was already dumped and the older wad wasn't fake. Also, the older wad was Nintendo Signed.

Finding the torrent was a PITA, since google didn't help, but I finally downloaded it.

Content of the multi-part RAR:
* IOS4-64-v3.wad
* IOS9-64-v516.wad
* RVL-WiiSystemMenu-v33.wad

All are retail-encrypted with valid signatures, so I'm doubting they actually came from the WMC .2 disc. I was expecting RVT-encrypted wads. Also, the MD5s of these wads matched with copies of these titles I already had from other sources. Nothing new here folks.

The link in my previous post said they were bytes. If not, then how big is a block?
I'm not sure exactly how big one is. Someone with more hardware expertise could likely tell you though.

How did you install the NDEV menu?
Get a wad of it and install it. NDEV is not available at the typical sites though. I got mine by unpacking the uninstaller channel. Unpack the Menu Uninstaller channel, then unpack the 7MB app file with a U8 extractor. Inside it are 3 wads. The one with "SystemMenu" in its name is the NDEV menu. Make sure you RVT2RVL it before using, and be sure you install IOS55.

Also, no matter what advice or guide I use, using a dump from my Wii or a nand built with ModMii, SNEEK and UNEEK won't work for me. It just gives a black screen. I tried waiting 10 minutes and it still didn't work.
Try a different SD card. Not all of them work with SNEEK. Try a 2GB Sandisk or Kingston card. I've had success with both.

As for building a NAND, ModMii never worked for me. I forget what the exact steps were to build mine, but I did it manually. Sadly, the guide for it has since been replaced...with guide for modmii.

What does the NDEV menu look like? Can it load normal channels? Oh yeah, thanks for the new version of RVT2RVL.

It doesn't look like much, actually. It's text-based. It can't load channels at all, only discs. The idea behind it was you'd either put a game in, or you'd put in the SM Changer disc, which would install a normal menu. It does have a (also text-based) settings menu though, so you can do things like set the clock and delete save data.

You're welcome for the update to RVT2RVL.

Some pics of the Wii Menu Changer v.2 (which actually holds the SM 1.0 wads)
Cool.

Is the SM 1.0 on that disc the same as the SM 1.0 already floating online? I ask because the one floating online won't show any installed channels, making it useless for anything beyond loading discs.

Update for all who are interested in this stuff:

NMenu_homescreen.jpg

Pic of my homescreen displaying NMenu channel, NWC24Editor channel

BTW, NMenu allows to install .wad files on DEV systems, place .wad files on SD card like this:

root->
viewer(place the .wad file here)

Good thing is the NMenu disc works from disc channel(disc needs to be the same region as the system menu) and from NDEV Menu(regionfree).

Cool. Am I correct in saying that NMenu is just a Nintendo-made wad manager? I'm now curious where to get it...

Also, what does NWC24Editor do? (I'm assuming it does something to WC24 data...) And what's the channel to the left of it ("Title" isn't exactly descriptive...)?

Yeah, this is just a official wad manager tool

Need to take a deeper look into the other channels.

The NMenu refers to "importing" wads, not installing wads.
It's shown in crediar's video where he tests SNEEK v2 with dev stuff.

Also, I converted my test Wii into a dev Wii (it currently has the NDEV menu on it)
I did it by modifying comex's formatter to use the rvt-r common key

Interesting, sounds like a good way to brick or lock yourself out if you're not careful.

Now as they said, what we can do with it? (In other words, any reason why you did that, other than just to see if it worked?)

Well we dont want to be picky or?

Importing/ installing... the wad files are on homescreen and on NDEV menu so they are "installed" in some way.
