Console spec are often underwhelming especially the video card since PC are already 3(almost 4) generation ahead in the video department. So console hold back graphic on multiplat (which is almost the norm nowadays). Exclusive are better because they are custom made to the system spec.

Seeing a console with under a GB of Vram today would be weird with all the HD stuff and 3D possibilities. PC video car will probably have 4 time as much as that in 2 year or so. Another thing about console using old video card is that they have obsolete feature like 5 year old shaders for example.... True TV ridiculously low Resolution compared to Computer screen but Console are really holding back graphical improvement imo with their limited video capability that lacks all new feature that come out with each generation of new graphic card/engine.

Seeing something comparable to the latest radeon or geforce is much better than seeing it comparable to a 2 year olc card which is often the case with new system launch. So im hoping this is true

And what if Nintendo learned from their mistakes and included a strong Online service with a monthly fee much like Live from the 360

If the console and the Online AND the games are good I'll pay for it

I second, or third, this notion!

We will know for sure in a week, well... we'll know a BIT more. I think it would be stupid for Ninty to come out at E3 and read a list of Specs for something that will likely not appear until after E3 2012, giving Microsoft and Sony time to incorporate whatever newfangled control device- rumour has it it's a touchscreen based handheld doodad- into their upcoming devices that will out-do this Stream/ Project Cafe/ Wii2 thing.

Anyone else think they should call it Puu?

How I said in the closed thread:

The described system could be done without problems, however is not part of the way to work of Nintendo with home consoles, Nintendo will never compete with Sony and Microsoft face to face from the moment they decide not losing money on each console they sell, their philosophy is completely different in terms of hardware.

Are possible any of these specifications? Yes, but the question we should be asking is: is possible taking into account the way which traditionally Nintendo does the hardware? This is a system that Sony or Microsoft would launch right now but that is outside the traditional form of work that have Nintendo.

The gig of VRAM seems like bull to me.

This was made expecting that people who are used to PC specs (and don't know what individual specs actually mean) will be looking at it, that's quite out of line for a console. PC video cards often have a lot of VRAM due to texture resolution (double the resolution and the area is multiplied times four), but high texture resolution isn't needed in consoles because they output at smaller screen resolutions.
Maybe needed for possible 3D display? (future proofing)

And destroy the two most important capacities of the Wii for that shit?

This is likely to be fake, as the specs aren't usually released like this.
We'll see the real specs after it comes out or even a bit before.

But it's specs will probably be like this:
It will play Wii games
It will probably have 512 RAM "GPU should be an ATI from the R700 family, with a shader unit at version 4.1. RAM should be at least 512 MB."
It will use BluRay
The CPU will have 3 cores, not 4
There will be resolutions up to 1080p
There will be 8gb onboard memory

It is unconfirmed:
If it will play Gamecube game as discs, virtual console, or even at all.
