Hardware Rumor on a redesign for the 3DS

According to this site it is rumored that there will be a redesign for the 3DS to include a 2nd Circle pad and to lessen the 3D effect even though its suppose to be the selling point of the system. What I dont get though is how will future 3DS games be affected with 2 possible models of a 3DS. They said a $10 attachment will be sold to add to the original 3DS so that it can work to play games that are dual analog.

Do you guys honestly believe for this to be true?

I can only hope your right. I wont be exactly happy with this decision either if it turns out to be true. Something tells me Nintendo is doing this in an attempt to one-up Sony's PS Vita.

It says it wishes to reduce the 3D side of things, not that 3D will be binned. Probably meaning that they'll scrap the name '3ds' to a) try and sell the console as something other than a gimmik, and b) stop so many people getting confused with all the other ds named consoles they have.

If they allow me to change in the 3DS with 3d for that one i will gladly do it. I have no use for the 3D because of my bad eyesight and i have this eye sickness that makes it hard to focus on things that requires a good amount of focus to be able to see it like the 3D or things that makes use of 2 coloured glasses too see. Basically one of my eye has a stronger focus ratio than the other throwing it off-balance. It takes intense focus from me and competely ignoring the world around me to be able to see the 3D effect of the screen. Thats why i never go to cinema to watch 3D movies. And having another analog or what u call it means better FPS games and RPG with a good amount of cam control. Better homebrew support like if minecraft gets ported/homebrewed then it means u can use those 2 instead of using the d-pad and/or the touchscreen for movement. I tried a homebrew based off CoD zombie mode on my PSP and the controls for the movement was just horrible because a lack of another analog stick. Hopefully because they throw off the 3D mode, they will make it having better hardware specs.

If it does turn out to be true they better safely increase the volume and battery life and change the overall design, otherwise I'll keep my unsupported 3DS 1.0.

IMO horrible idea... I don`t even want to elaborate on it more, since it is simply ridiculous! It`s not as essential as people make it and the usage of the touchscreen (if done well) is more accurate and faster, so I prefer that!

That is also the reason why I did not purchase ResiMerce, since it did not feature touchscreen-aiming, simply because some "hardcore-gamers" think it is not hardcore to use anything but an analog-stick, even thouch mouse, touchscreen and pointers are ALL superior!
