"Democratic Republican".
It's called "Mitt Romney". But that's a different discussion on another thread.

"Democratic Republican".

I know the etymology of the names, I know they mean something. Every name means something. I'm simply underlining the lack of consistency in the naming system.Nintendo Entertainment System --> Super Nintendo Entertainment System --> Nintendo 64 (why?) --> Gamecube (why?) --> Wii (why?) --> WiiU (you remembered how to name things correctly, my goodness!)
I thought the N64 was called that because it was 64-bit or something. I'm not too sure though.
The Gamecube was called that because it was a CUBE that played GAMES. MAKES TOTAL SENSE AND IT'S SO CREATIVE.
The Wii was called that I'm assuming because it encouragedcasual gamersaccessibility and togetherness throughforcing local multiplayer since the online was shitgreat family games andgimmicks that weren't actually funmotion controls.
The Wii U is just a dumb name. "Wii", meaning "We" means togetherness or accessibility. "U" meaning "You" means it's centered around you and tailored for you specifically. So saying "the Wii U" is like calling something the "Black White" or the "Democratic Republican".

Isn't the number 4 a taboo in Japan?

Isn't the number 4 a taboo in Japan?
yes, it means death.
doesn't necessarily have anything to do with this though.

Guild, you don't understand. This is *Sony* and *an unlucky number*. I don't know a better recipie for failure...*Isn't the number 4 a taboo in Japan?

Well 6 is associated with the devil but it doesn't stop people from making Resident Evil 6 or any other games with 6 in their title.
Nor did the number 4 stop games like Resident Evil 4 or Street Fighter IV or any other games with 4 in their title being developed.
Please, let it be.This an April fools joke in the making to me.

Fine, that version is indeed better, for God's sake man, let it be!

They will not switch architectures.Well at least the rumors make sense. Obviously backwards compatibility would be dropped when switching architectures. Keeping it would require emulation, no?
Though emulating PS2 games may well be possible on the hardware.
The rumors say they will switch architectures to x64 from Cell. I'm not saying any part of it is true or false, but I'm saying that if the rumors are false, they are certainly well-thought out. They will not switch architectures.Well at least the rumors make sense. Why would they possibly switch from an architecture that yeilds better performance for gaming devices to a typically PC architecture? Why would they needlessly use more expensive and less efficient CPU's and GPU's? Why would they just throw away development tools they've been working on for the past 6-7 years when they could just be tweaked for the next generation? I don't see a point, really. Gtfo, I'm not arguing either point, so stop arguing them to me.Why would they possibly switch from an architecture that yeilds better performance for gaming devices to a typically PC architecture? They will only sell new games and PSN/Xbox Live cards/content.So I don't know if Im reading this right... But if it locks a game to a PSN account... What will happen to game stores? :/
