The only relevant comment worth reading here was Foxi's about the CPU & GPU seeming to be strange choices on the first page. Also, Foxi, it's spelled definitely. It slowly kills me every time I see you spell it incorrectly in your otherwise correctly spelled sentences.
Sorry, I always forget that... the Polish spelling blends with the English one in my head all the time. :P I'll edit it just for ya. :P
You don't have to rub it in my face, it's a common mistake even among native users and for me it's a second language so chill.

I don't understand why GBAtemp has such hatred towards rumors, take them for what they are. If you don't want to read them, then don't.
Because there's too many kids here who don't understand the meaning of the word rumor
Their imagination runs wild and they start to think these rumors are facts.

Well at least the rumors make sense. Obviously backwards compatibility would be dropped when switching architectures. Keeping it would require emulation, no?
Though emulating PS2 games may well be possible on the hardware.
They will not switch architectures. :)
The rumors say they will switch architectures to x64 from Cell. I'm not saying any part of it is true or false, but I'm saying that if the rumors are false, they are certainly well-thought out.
Why would they possibly switch from an architecture that yeilds better performance for gaming devices to a typically PC architecture? Why would they needlessly use more expensive and less efficient CPU's and GPU's? Why would they just throw away development tools they've been working on for the past 6-7 years when they could just be tweaked for the next generation? I don't see a point, really. It's definatelly false.
Gtfo, I'm not arguing either point, so stop arguing them to me. :nayps3:
You gotta remember, he's Foxi. He does these things.

Anyway, I seriously doubt that drm stuff will happen. It will drive people away.... Also about that architecture thing you were discussing, foxi is right, logically speaking.

yeah right $ony are too stupid to come up with another name it will be called ps4 :P
No, they'll call it PS4 because it's the natural follow-up to the PS3 considering PS1, PS2 and PS3. In fact, PlayStation is permanently embedded in the names of their consoles - PS1, PSOne, PS2, PSP, PS-X, PS3 and now surely PS... something. More then likely 4, but Orbis could as well be the nickname. It's better then the mess Nintendo is presenting:

...
Indeed, it very well may be the code name or development title for the PS4, much like how "Dolphin" referred to the GameCube, "Revolution" referred to the Wii and "Nitro" referred to the DS.

Yeah, I do "those things", especially when people hear a stupid rumour, reply "that's possible" and refuse to give reasons as to why they think so. No need to get your panties in a bunch, I was explaining why this won't happen, not arguing with Skull.

While I'm not one to speculate that Orbis is actually the name, we must remember that some Asian countries, including Japan, are culturally tetraphopic/superstitious about the number 4 (similar in how the West tends to be triskaidekaphobic, or superstitious about the number 13). If it turns out that the PS3 successor is not called the PS4, I wouldn't be too surprised.

At the same time we also have to remember that not-being-able-to-play-used-games is the exact same rumour that was circulating about the Xbox 360 successor. And that people in the industry were very quick to debunk it.
