There are rumors from an "inside source" that a new entry in the popular LEGO series is in the works- Lego Harry Potter. This is just a rumor, though.

Regardless, I find it an EXCELLENT and obvious choice for the series, but the idea might be getting a little stale.

At any rate, the Harry Potter series is perfect:

- large selection of stories/movies
- I can see a LOT of potential for humor
- plenty of "driving" sequences (flying cars and broomsticks)
- TONS of characters
- great opportunities for fun puzzles
- lots of locations and the castle to explore
- magic + legos = win (like the force on steroids)
- perfect choice for hiding secrets

The main problem is the story presentation. Those who know the books will know that they are HEAVILY reliant on non-action wordy story elements, as opposed to action heavy stories: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Batman. They may have their work cut out for them when putting the details in. That is, unless they decide to to the unprecedented in a LEGO game: voice acting.

This would be a great game. Although people think harry potter and legos are for kids I could see this turning out AMAZING. I really hope they do not screw it up. I shall stay tuned.

Same here, but it might be difficult to convey certain story elements such as (major 7th book spoilers):

horcruxes and how Voldemort's soul is split into 7 pieces

Too bad I'm stuck with a DS and crappy PC. I've not even played a true LEGO series game except on DS and a PS2 kiosk demo. Guess I'm not too qualified to say anything about the series. I did really like Complete Sage DS though!

i hate lego video games
i wouldn't waste me download downloading one!

I like the ones that are out, but I think the series is getting a bit old. Each installment after Star Wars has been virtually the same game with a new skin. They should add some new things in to keep it from getting old.

To tell the truth, I think the Goblet of Fire video game was similar to what the Lego game would be like. If anyone's played it, you'll know what I mean.

When LucasArts announced Lego Indiana Jones, I told myself that they're going to create a Lego Harry Potter.

Might as well and after this Lego Spongebob Squarepants.
