It would be sad if the Vita gets hacked before the 3DS.

    PSVita isn't even released yet.

I call this BS until proven otherwise with confirmed evidence.

Not really, I'd hate to see the 3DS get hacked. Do it at the end of it's lifetime.

The 3DS dev unit was out in the wild in public hands way before it was even release. Maybe someone got hold of something similar.

Up until this day only saved games and some? files are decrypted of the 3DS.
So it's highly unlikely someone could make a firmware extractor and a decrypter in a small amount of time for the PSV.

Yes, but SKFU contributed to the PS3 scene before, Dinoh. I'm not saying I believe this, I'm saying there's a high chance that this is true.

I wasn't talking about what could or has been done, I just stated people can get hold of these devices before it is released.

The article says the Vita's PKG is decrypted by PSP’s AES keys If sony has reused the same keys in Vita then it's not gonna take a long time, is it?

Call me a Nintendo Fan-boy(Which I am) but I would laugh so hard if the Vita gets hacked before release. Then Sony is screwed.(Not really since we cannot do anything) but anyhow this could become pretty interesting. :P

But the 3DS needs to stay unhacked for a while.

Even if this is true, I doubt such a flaw would exist beyond prerelease/dev demos and such. I don't see any reason for Sony to continue using a compromised key unless it wasn't for anything that mattered to the public.

Well that was fast. I'm kind of sorry for Sony here; how can they keep up?

You people whining about system being hacked too early have serious issues. You actually believe the propaganda about piracy. Fools. You are sheep, with no ability to see an obvious scapegoat. Then you come on a pirate friendly site, and read this kind of thing.
Let me guess, you think SOPA is a good idea too, right? Idiots like you are why the real HB scene is going underground as all get out.
Both android and iOS are easily pirated, and devs are still flocking there to make lots of $.
See the truth or go back to sleep. Just get out of the way.
( I'm not advocating piracy, as much as simply seeing that current methods are widespread, and better in the hands of the people than bootleggers, which is where it will go back to, at the current rate.)

I'd like to underline why this is stupid.

Nobody on this forum owns a VITA nor can we connect a VITA to a PC nor can we extract any .pkg files off it even when we will have one.

*Pulls out a quickly-made GUI that smells like Visual Basic from a mile*

"Look! I made a 3DS Custom Firmware installer! All you have to do is connect your 3DS to a PC! How? That's for you to find out! "

    "Seems legit."

Funny as SONY is, they probably were to lazy to think of a new key and just used *hehe*, the PSP .pkg AES key ~quote from SKFU...
