Hacking Rominator for Linux

I don't know if this has been posted yet. I downloaded Rominator 5.3.2 for Linux from here, but I have not idea how to install it. In the .gz archive I get is a file called Rominator, and when I try to run it, I get Runtime Error 4: Failed Assertion. How do I overcome this?

When I click OK, the messages keep on coming, but Cancel terminates them.
