ROM Hack ROM Text Hacking & Translation.

Hi! I'm really interested in getting on Text hacking and translation, but i have some obstacles...

First, does anyone knows how to ad Shift-Jis support to XP? I own a Spanish version (Because i'm from Argentina) and it doesn't supports Shift-JIS. So i'm in a dead end extracting scripts. And thats the other thing, extracting scrpts.

Let's take as an example Jet Impulse, it has a scrript folder with ini and bin files (for each mission). There are some japanese charachters on it, but that's all, nothin else. I've got to do anything else? How do you extract and rplace text from roms?. Is CrystalTile2 good for that?
