I tested with the last version 2.2 and now the installation finished successfully. But then start the channel I have a Black screen.
Anyone know why??
EDIT: When I compile the WAD the programm do not find the common-key. But the key is in the same directory. Strange

EDIT2: The black screen is after the "You will need the Classic Controller" screen.
The game probably isn't compatible.

Yes I did.

Miles you're right. The game isn't compatible.

Thank you

I'm really new to this (as in, ROM Injection), so I'm gonna ask a big noob question:

What's a WAD file, and how do I obtain one?

EDIT: Oh, and what's common-key.bin, is that just any VC game or is it something different?

The wad file is the Virtual console ROM ie: Donkey Kong Country 2 VC.wad
The common-key.bin contains a 'key' which the program needs (don't know the technicalities)

Both Wads and key can be googled.

Well I tried manually injecting last night, as well as manually changing the ticket info to no avail.
Hey heres something I realized.. .when I had a working installing I had dumped MY wii files to \Username\.wii\SHARED1 and a common-key in \username\.wii
BUT on the 28th (right before i started getting -4100) I put the wii packer from blaze in there which replaced my SHARED1 folder with all their files, though I dunno if that'd change anything

Try the NTSC Secret of Mana in the NTSC DKC2, then set the region to 3.

I know from personal experience that Secret of Mana works (at least the NTSC in the NTSC works)

I missed out on this whole rom injecting saga.

What is the advantage of rom injecting? Does it get past the ticket issue? Meaning you buy a vc game and inject that game with other roms....I'm I understanding it correctly?

There is a "wad installer" out that lets you install downloaded VC games. Injecting allows you to make your own essentially. I.E. You inject Super Smash Bros 64 in to Sin and Punishment VC and then install it, now you have Super Smash bros on your wii.

I have a little theory to this injection process. Maybe we can get higher compatability if we inject the rom into a wad with the SAME kind of game engine. just maybe, something would work.

oh, and thanks for making this vista friendly! way easier than hex editing!

Yes it no longer shows on the Wii shop that it's downloaded.

Now waiting for a tool to edit the VC channel graphics/manual so they don't all show as DKC2/S&P etc.

BREAKTHROUGH!

I deleted the included wadpacker.exe and had the blaze wad packer sitting in a nearby folder. After running injectuwad through, I used the blaze packer to compile *with ticket patcher*. It made me rename title.tik to the hex name of the ticket so 4a5a4751.tik
I then tried installing on my wii
IT PASSES THE TICKET INSTALL
But after it "installs" the ticket and goes to install the title i get error -2011

I got the injector to work (finally) so I decided to try out Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, works perfectly, thanks!

The injector was having problems with the names of my .wad and .smc files, Chrono Trigger was named ChronoTrigger.smc, and Donkey Kong Country 2 was named DKC-3.wad or something like that, so I renamed them to ct.smc, and dk.wad and it worked perfectly. Weird that it would give me a problem like that. >:(

It might not like the "-" in the file name. I'll look into it. What was the error you were getting before?

Der Langrisser, injected into DKC 2, does nothing, although it installs properly. I don't know if it has anything to do with the SMC region, the size, or the lack of a header, but it didn't go past the classic controller screen.
