More and more 4100 errors popping up. At this point I just don't understand, everything works smoothly on my system.

For those of you getting 1022 errors:
Make sure you have the correct common-key.bin in your install folder. I just purposely corrupted my key and the result was the tools completed successfully, but the install would 1022.

I'm leaning towards 4100 being an N64. N64 is a lot more picky about certain things. Still so confused as to why a small handful of people are able to do N64 injections without issues though.

Great work.
I just tried the roms I got the cert error on in the old versions, and now they go though without a hitch.

Errors have occured the following ways:

(experimented)

No wad in wad folder (assuming this is done from SD card)
Trying to overwrite the same Host Rom with same ticket name as the one installed
Trying to install a VC channel with the same ticket name as the one installed yet is of different Host System/Region

That's about it

Might be worth noting the following:

On testing Terranigma (pal) if you inject the rom with a region 2 setting using a PAL Host wad (DK2) it will run but with no sound and will freeze eventually
Testing Terranigma (pal) again inject the rom with a region 2 setting using a NTSC Host wad (DK2) it will install the channel fine but click start and the Wii crashes.
I'm going to test to see if changing the setting to region 1 using a NTSC Host wad (DK2) yields any results

Hmm interesting. I just tried the latest version of Injectuwad, and it told me "Could not find .des files!"

I actually experience it with SNES and N64.

Edit: More info - I was using wadinstaller 2.0 rather than 2.1

Yet another version!. Only download this one if you're getting errors though. This protects against cert folder error and tries (keyword tries) to pre-detect a wad install error. A new ini option delaytime has been added. This can be 0-9. If you are getting cert folder errors increase the value to 9, if not use 0.

CHANGES v2.2
-Noob protection
-Added delay time to ini file for people with cert folder error

Download V2.2

Thanks to everyone who has been sticking by the programming whether it works for them or not!

That's dedication if I've ever seen it

Well I know the program isn't 100% user friendly so I'm trying to fix whatever issues people bring up. It's a bit sloppy to go "here, this works for me so you deal with it". Plus I've been a lurker for a couple of years (even before my join date) and now I finally have something small to contribute to the community.

It does the job..
i guess everyone has had problems with it - first injected file I did was 4 Kb - realised I had to rename key.bin file.

I posted rarely before the advent of the twilight hack.

I'm hoping that this will lead to users being able to put the correct images into the injected VC channels.
All my VC channels show DKC2 lol

Still getting that error message. (Was the message always "-4100"?)

It's still great that you're on top of this though! I hope I can get this to work soon.

hey, i was a lurker until this came out... now i'm trying (note: TRYING) to be as helpful to everyone else, as they were to me, plus i kinda like these forums. (at least more that gamefaqs POTD, witch i lurked on forever)

Indeed thanks a lot for this creffca. I would not have gotten my one successful injection without it. Btw how do you inject without this program? I see unpackers and packers... but how do people get roms IN to the file. and which file..

Well I'm done tinkering with this tonight, I'm going to get wrinkles

I thought installing DKC2 might help, but alas, no difference. All in all, I hope I can see some progress tomorrow.

To do it manually you have to know a little about hex:
-Unpack wad using wadtool/wadunpacker
-Open 005 file and ROM to inject in hex editor
-If SNES copy from offset 0x200 to end of file, else copy entire file
-Locate offset for ROM data in wad (0xC0800 for dkc2)
-Paste copied ROM data
-Save 005
-Calculate the sha1 of 005 using sha1.exe
-Open .tmd file in hex editor
-Write the 20 byte sha1 to address 0x2A8 in tmd
-Save .tmd
-Repack using wadpacker

The manual way is to use a hex editor, a dump of a VC wad, a ROM of the game you want to use as the host, and the rom you want to inject.

You'd take a ROM and wad of Sin & Punishment, find the beginning of the ROM and search for it in the wad. You'd remove everything before that and save it as part1.
You'd then take the end of the Sin & Punishment ROM, and find it in the wad. You'd remove everything after that and save it as part3.
Then you have to make the ROM you want to inject the exact same size as the ROM you took out, so you'd have to fill it with a bunch of junk data. You'd save that as part2.
Then you join them all together.

I had a link to a site that had a tutorial on doing it, but I can't remember where it is.

I tested with the last version 2.2 and now the installation finished successfully. But then start the channel I have a Black screen.
Anyone know why??
EDIT: When I compile the WAD the programm do not find the common-key. But the key is in the same directory. Strange

EDIT2: The black screen is after the "You will need the Classic Controller" screen.
