So I was a little lost with some tutorials I had found on extracting a romFS File from brain dump on the 3DS. I was extracting a digital copy of Mario Kart 7 using BrainDump, so I can play CTGP 7, as soon as I get the 3DS to finish extracting the information on the digital game to the SD Card, I went onto my SD Card but I didn't receive a folder, I basically only received the title of what the folder is supposed to be called, and that's pretty much it.

The file is in a .cxi format which has been puzzling me since your supposed to receive a romfs file, and something else along with it. Is there a certain command to fix this situation, or am I missing something?

You could try following this to get the romFS.

CTGP-7 building tools support braindump cxi files. Just use the tutorial in the CTGP-7 thread. However, if you have CFW, use ntr method instead, it's way better an easier to install.

I have tried installing it as a CIA using the FBI QR Code install. Whats werid is that everytime I boot into the app it gives me the error; "CTGP-7 Files are corrupted Errcode; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6"

Also NTR isint an option for me (I think) since i'm using Luma3DS on 11.2 CFW.

You can't just install the cia, some files need to be copied. read the CtGP-7 thread tutorial (in my signature)

Okay I have finally have been able to hop on my PC and managed to get the resources to install CTGP-7, but I am confused on one part of installing CTGP-7 as a CIA.
Basically I have tried using Decrypt9 WIP to decrypt the CIA but I cannot access the application from Homebrew (It boots but immediately reboots back into Homebrew?) I have tried looking for other alternatives with current applications I already have on my 3ds, but sadly had no success :(. I tried figuring out if I did something wrong, like if I needed another file or application to access Decrypt9, I have looked on multiple guides saying you need certain files in the Files9 folder to complete the process however on the official guide on github (For Decrypt9) it says to download & add the files in the Decrypt9WIP Folder which I currently have ready (Decrypt9.smdh & Decrypt9.3dsx) I have even looked through other guides on how to access Decrypt9 but they are either unclear what exactly your installing on (A CFW or startup app.) or are outdated.

I don't know why exactly but there may be an issue with my files9 folder, basically going off of this guide I saw on YouTube & the Homebrew Guide

https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax

I installed Hourglass9 to my 3ds to install FBI, to install the Luma3DS updater CIA, to install Luma3ds CFW... I think the Hourglass9 Files may be getting mixed up with the Decrypt9 Files  ...
Err so... I don't know if its impossible for me to install ROM Hacks at this point, or if I am stuck, can you please help?

So bootup the app via Homebrew (decrypt9) and hold the button I registered to hourglass9 as soon as it launches?
No, when you boot the system. Download latest Decrypt9, move the .bin to your luma/payloads folder, rename it to right_Dec9.bin. Press and hold the right button when you boot your system.

Alright.
I have one other question, once I overwrite the start up with Decrypt9 will it overwrite the button I use to get into Hourglass9?

What? No after you press Start to reboot your system while in Decrypt9 you can immediately press the button you need to to boot into Hourglass9.

Oh I see, sorry I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't resolve a problem only to have another problem occur afterword's I just modified my 3ds about a week or so ago, so I am being careful with what I install to my system.
I will try it out and see if it works.

It took my a little while to figure out what you meant by the "right button" I thought you were referring to the button I used to start up Hourglass9 lawl.
I should be fine from here, thank you :)

Wait what? You don't need decrypt9 to install cias. Go to FBI (if you followed 3ds.guide it should be injected into H&S app), go to SD, find where did you put the cia in your SD, select it and press A twice.

No I know how to install a CIA via FBI, the CTGP7 .bat file prompts me to have an encrypted CIA File. (It says its either encrypted, or not a MK7 Game but it is a MK7 Game.)

Last night I tried to decrypt the CIA on my 3ds but I was even more confused becuase I didin't know what files I would recieve to have a decrypted CIA

so...

Why don't you just use NTR method? It's way easier.
