Hi All,

I have recently bought the legit version of Rock band Beatles and I"m running into some drama. When ever I try to run it from the disc channel I get the blue #002 error and if I try to run it from a backup launcher (I'm using NeoGamma R7) the drums and guitar do not work (microphone seems to work though). I did have it running on the disc channel at one point in time but suddenly it started doing this (I have a feeling I installed an incorrect IOS). Does anyone know what IOS it uses? can I just use drop IOS to restore that IOS to get it to work with the disc channel?

#002 error is caused by the disc being forced to an IOS that it doesn't want. If you have a preloader or startpatch "force disc games to use IOS249" or "IOS Reload (to 249)" hacks enabled, DISABLE them.

I checked both preloader and startpatch and they are both set to disable. Could something else be forcing an IOS249 load? I did notice the problem starting after installing startpatch but then after uninstalling all of startpatch fixes there is still this drama. Has startpatch been know to not uninstall properly?

Not sure, I don't use startpatch.

Do you remember exactly what you did after that 1 time you got it working?
Rock Band The Beatles runs under IOS56. Did you mess around with that?
What System Menu is your wii running?

The only thing I could think of is installing startpatch. If I can't get it to load with disc channel are there loaders that support usb devices? I am unable to get the drum set working at all with neo gamma.

Also, is it possible to downgrade from System Menu 4.2 or reinstall System Menu 4.2 to see if that fixes it?

To be honest, I think the game naturally goes bad after a while similar to rotten fish. Anyways I was running this with system menu IOS 60 perfectly, but after a while the disc just gave me a black screen afterwards. The thing is that I didn't mess with the Wii at all during that one week time period, and I've seen many other similar scenarios such as my situation. However, I found a temporary solution, and that is to set the system menu IOS to 249 with preloader which then loaded fine.

I too could not get it to work at first (am on 3.2e) - I had Preloader 27 - This was also stoppingme updating Homebrew from 1.0.1 to 1.0.6
I downloaded BootMii which also refused to work so I used "anyregionchanger" to re-install 3.2e to get rid of Preloader completely.
Then I installed BootMii & Homebrew updated to 1.0.6 then installed cIOS38 rev14 and NeoGamma R3 & it worked fine

Victory144 NeoGammaR7 --- http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=176458&st=0
WiiPowers links to all NeoGamma versions --- http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884

Great usb loader cfg40 --- http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=148759
Just found newer version of it - cfg v45 --- http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147638
USBloader gx v1.0 --- http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=149922

Hope any of this helps but what I want to know is how to get drums & guitar working on this & Rock band 2

Looks like using anyregionchanger to reinstall the system menu got rid of the #002 error. But now I get a black screen when I try to run from the disc channel.

So it looks like though that startpatch does not uninstall even though its says that hacks are disabled.

I'm getting the same black screen on my original disk as well as the backup. I got around it by loading the game from SoftChip and letting it load IOS56 as requested. I have SM 4.2U with preloader .30 running the SM on cIOS60 along with a few startpatch hacks enabled. I'm thinking the issue may lie in SM4.2 itself and not an IOS. As for instruments not working when loading from USB, the instrument drivers for TB:RB and RB2 are located in IOS56 (GH5's drivers are in IOS37) so if they're not working then 56 isn't loading. Your IOS either needs to be patched or reinstalled, or your loader config is forcing the disk to use a different IOS.

Use NeoGamma to load your games - forget the disc channel
did you install cIOS38 r14 yet? If not then do it -------- http://teknoconsolas.tv/wanin/cIOS38_rev14-Installer.zip
I am currently installing Beatles to HDD to see if it works on USB loader
My NeoGamma R3 channel has options to load from usb or dvd I found out a few minutes ago - which is pretty cool

jczak - I'll try see if I can find ios56 in boot options on loader - thx

Yep- Beatles works on usb loader - guitar still don't work but I was expecting that!

Reason it took so long to do this edit was I forgot! oops - was installing games & ripping out my kitchen!

Right, here's what I've done to my Wii since getting it - Beatles works perfect & ALL instruments too.
biggrin.gif

I'm on 3.2E with BootMii on IOS (not boot2) & HBC 1.0.6 with cIOS38 v14
I am currently adding games to USB Hdd for use with Configurable usb loader v45 http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147638

History
Bought Dec 08 with 3.4E on menu - Downgraded to 3.2E & did Zelda etc to get HBC - Installed CiosCorp & Preloader 2.7 - Everything great til I got Beatles RB two weeks ago
Bought Rock Band Kit which didn't work so then I:

Tried to install BootMii - kept failing (also HBC would not update) so I read up for few days - used "anyregionchanger" via HBC to delete Preloader & CiosCorp & re-install 3.2E
Installed cIOS38 v14 (seems to be very important to stop #002 error)
Installed NeoGamma R3 Channel & both USB loaders - Think I installed IOS60 by WAD (pretty sure)
Currently don't have Preloader or Startpatch or whatever latest protection is! (Startpatch only 4.0+ ?) (Preloader stopped me with HBC, BootMii before & wouldn't let HBC update either)
To get instruments to work you need to go to http://gwht.wikidot.com/hermes-ios222-223 and download & install ios222 on 38 merged with 37 then do ios223 on 38 merged with 60 (install them on ios249) Read the instructions

Channels:
Configurable usb loader v45
usb loader gx 1.0
Neogamma R3 from WiiPowers page http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
WAD installer 1.3
Plus others etc

HBC:

NeoGamma R7
Wad installer 1.5
Configurable usb loader v45
usb loader gx 1.0
DOP IOS (never tried yet)
Plus loads more stuff

That's all I've done. If there's any of this you have not done then either do it or read up on it 1st then do it - it works for me & should work for everyone
If anyone can vouch for it then please do so. Thanks to WiiPower for directing me towards Hermes cIOS222.

So did you get it going?
When you've done Hermes ios just change the settings for Beatles to use ios 222 and it will work.

Is the hermes ios only meant for USB loaders?

I've just spent 20min looking for these

Yes, they are from the topic of cfg loader for usb, but it seems sense to get it anyway.
My previous post is a bit misleading in that way I suppose.
I've not yet tried using neogamma on ios222 as it's much easier to use my hdd than disks!
I don't see why it won't work though. Go into your game loaders options and pick ios222 and run game.
Presume you've tried a few things by now anyway! Which loader do you use?

Posts from cfg loader forum
What's the problem? You don't have to delete IOS249 to install Hermes' IOS, so all the apps that require it still work. Hermes' IOS222/223 also works with every game that IOS249 does, and there are some that only work with IOS222/223. The only things IOS249 has over IOS222/223 is faster disc ripping within the loader, and you can actually use IOS249 to install your games to FAT if you like (except for dual layer games with rev 14).

Is there any game that doesnt work properly with Hermes 222/223 btw?
Not that I know of.
