nope. sneeks hangs at loading IOS242. specifically module 3. i havent checked it out any deeper than that, but i wouldnt be surprised if the haxx module is content 3.
 
pune, u see any possibility to dip ios242 and let it install as cios223?
Shouldn't it be able to work with backups/usb loaders, then ?

. So the problem with cIOS lies mainly in the HAXX, and not in the DIP-Module? How big are the chances that this get's fixed (either on the cIOS or the SNEEK-Side)? Especially when Reggie! is out, Riivolution would be an awesome and easy solution.... Oh well, better ask this in the SNEEK-Topic...

Anyways, thanks for testing. Let's hope there's a way to make IOS242 working on SNEEK...
 
well i did some more poking around and i see something that isnt quite right. i was partially right about the haxx module. content 00000003.app is the mload.elf being indexed last in the tmd. but sneek hangs even before it gets to that. it hangs at index 3 (actually the 4th) content.

ok, well it seems that it is, in fact, the mload.elf that sneek is hanging on loading. and this is also in hermes ios. so if this is also in wanin's IOS, then that would answer the question. all the cIOScorp IOSes load fine, and none of them have the haxx module.

Will changing it on the SNEEK NAND change anything? I mean, modify the TMD to request 0000000f.app instead 00000101.app — if the hash is equivalent.

Have you tried renaming the 0000000f.app to 00000101.app?

Im just speculating maybe it will work maybe it wont, i dont know, im no coder

Haha, no chance. Why do you think this needs an own IOS? It does because it uses a modified dip module. Without the source forget about loading backups with this.

If you want on-the-fly patches, look at oggzee's stuff. When loading from FAT or NTFS the cIOS only knows at which offset of the HDD to look for which offset within the disc. You could mod configurable usb loader to load something patched on-the-fly, but it would be complicated. You would need to read the fst.bin, write a new one to hdd, replace the offset range for it in the offset list, and then replace one file after the other in the offset list and the fst.bin. I won't write this, and only people understanding the concept of what i just wrote may be capable of doing it.

seriously, this looks awesome... but I think the wii community has moved almost 100% to usb loaders (or will soon)... whether they engage in piracy or not (ie. even non-pirates use usb loaders so they dont wear and tear their disks/laser). So I think enabling this to work with usb loaders is not the same as promoting piracy.

Funny thing is, this can do a lot more than USB loaders, in what it does.

For example, it's the only way to make the custom Reggie stages work in NSMBW without going completely insane.

r u sure? didn't brawl + used to only work with its own loader and the original disk? Then ocarina changed all that and made it possible to play brawl + using a usb loader

Gecko OS is open source. Riivolution most likely not. And i still think usb loaders won't work, because it already uses an own dip module. Maybe the loader does fancy stuff, but that would be an additional problem for usb loading.
 
does this support sdhc cards? and will it override smash bros sd card programming so you use brawl plus on a sdhc card?
