In the guide could I install Starfall instead of Preloader? I don't particularly care if it doesn't allow reigon-free.

preloader has nothing to do with region free it is starfall brick protection plus.
Anyregionchanger twiizer hacks are what gives the region free. trust me preloader is far better protection than just starfall as it doesn't allow you to load anything you want by holding down the reset button. but if you really dont want preloader don't install it and try to run starfall. it may not work though as the menus already patched.

I dont know if this will help but maybe you could use the Dolphin Emulator to do a ISO loader for Wii or maybe even a GC SD front ISO loader

Alright, here are some questions before I get to the installs. Actually, I might start tomorrow, since it's almost 2 am here, heh.

1) I got HBC and Gamma's cIOS. Should I install Waninkoko's cIOS r7 before anything else?

2) Says in the guide: OPTIONAL 1, fix your MIOS to an older better version. - I don't get it; what does that do, afterall?

3) Seems like crediar is probably going to release a new version (0.26) of preloader soon. Shouldn't I just wait for it?
3.2) If I do install 0.25, what should I do before updating it to 0.26?

4) As I've never seen preloader before (except on some videos), I don't quite understand those hacks. It's probably going to explain to me when I install it, but it doesn't hurt if I ask: how do I manage them? I mean, how do I install new ones if I have already installed some?

5) Anyone got a good compilation of those hacks? If so, or not, why not create a thread listing (most of) them?

Its optional - if you dont understand it skip it

Preloader boots before your system menu and lets you choose where you want to boot to - be it system menu as normal , homebrewchannel or DOL - you pick and choose from the menu.

1- to be honest mate, i aint got my hands on 0.26 so i cant say how its gonna handle...

2 - if you have a GammA Wii as you will see in the guide you just start at PHASE 2, and complete the guide

3 - the older MIOS is more useable as nintendo killed of certain stuff in the newer versions, you probably don't need to know about.

other than that i assure you as soon as we get hold of the new preloader we will work this guide.
