I really think someone should jump on making a wiki for the hacks.ini file used by preloader. Also, we need to research into hacks that can be used with it. It reminds me of plugins for the psp, yet it's not quite the same thing. I wish I could help with this, but I have no idea how it actually works.
I dunno if this has already been reported or tried by anybody, i didn't want to rescan the whole thread... so I went ahead and tried it.
The PAL consoles are changing Video Mode to NTSC to get NTSC games to not black screen. That I knew.
So I changed my Video Output mode to PAL on my NTSC console and it fixes the Black Screen freezes on NTSC machines with Some PAL games. So far I've tried 3 PAL games that black screened from Disc Channel and they all worked with Video output set to PAL with A.R.C. I also tested half a dozen of my NTSC games and they still worked as normal. If i find any problems arise from doing this I'll report on it. Figured this would work since it worked for PAL consoles. Again sorry if this was already tried and reported.
Also note people, that if you change your Video Output mode with A.R.C. all you have to do is Save the settings. You don't have to hit GO and go through the install process.
What wii do you have? It works perfectly on my NTSC wii with the 3.2u menu. If you don't have that menu, then it won't work. You could either wait until someone figures it out for your menu version, or patch it using the menu patcher method explained earlier.
Also, if it's not working, and you do have that menu, you may need to run the remove_preloader_hacks.dol.
great work tho dude, so essentially if we could change the guide to say set your video mode to PAL, however some one you guys in the states might not have PAL capable TV's so....might be a bad move...even tho...
this looks like everything works perfecto..
about them custom bootscreens tho, thats a interesting point, i wonder how Fors is gettin on with them?
Yea, I saw a video of someone that had a custom boot screen, instead of the health screen, and I'm pretty sure that was through preloader. I wish I knew something about this stuff, so I could do more than just speculate, but most of the info available is either way over my head, or just more speculation/wondering from people like me.
Ok I got the Disc Channel mover thing to work but first i had to remove all the hacks then install them again that's when it finally showed up in the menu.
Well, I looked into the custom banner, and it looks like a no go for now, unless you can patch just the banner file that health screen uses. The forum I found from here says that it's just a patched system menu using injected banners, so I don't think you could have that AND riiski, since ARC downloads a clean system menu.
you obviously didnt read the whole guide as its in there...
at the very bottom to make sure you did as instructed and READ the whole thing, your gonna have menupatcher problems aswell if you didnt read the whole guide first.
