hey, I'm new to the rgb scene. I can get a rgb-2 plus im mainly getting for use with a Samsung uhd tv. Is this model a good choice for console use like nes, snes, and n64?

Best things for old consoles is to put a rgb mod inside the console. Search on youtube for rgb101 and you can see the results

Are you referring to the XRGB-2 plus shown here?

It's intended for older VGA monitors, and only outputs VGA, but should work on many HDTVs.
These inputs are available:
composite
s-video
"JP21" RGB
d-terminal (use a component adapter)
VGA

Note this is a Japanese device and requires Japanese RGB cable pinout.
European SCART will not work out of the box!! Though converters exist.
