LostWinds was an amazing game. It was a WiiWare launch title that was really fun, but short. The sequel, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, doesn't change that, but in a good way.If anything, this game is more fun than the original. With just the right amount of game play changes, it keeps the original feel, but still introduces new elements very well. The artsy elements also remain here. The beautiful setting still remains, and even more is added. The changing seasons add to this greatly. Both the winter and summer have very distinct feels. These affect game play, as well as the visuals. Water gets frozen during winter, and allows you to do things you might not have been able to do before, while during summer, the water falls flow and lakes are deep, allowing you to swim down and get to areas you couldn't before. Even the enemies change during the seasons. The only thing disappointing about this was that the screens made it look like you could change the seasons whenever you please, but in actuality you must find statues that let you change them. You also cant change them at all until about half way through. So at the beginning, you basically have less power than at the end of the first game, because your flying cloak thing has broke. But once you start obtaining new abilities, they come in a steady stream. These other new elements are the ability to swim and dive under water, create vortexes, and transport water in clouds by using vortexes. These new elements make for some good puzzles. All in all i finished this game in about 5 hours, without collecting all the little hidden statues. So for a WiiWare title, and one that i personally love, i would recommend playing this game. Definitely worth ten bucks.
