Hey @ploggy the work that has been done to make RA work with aroma is awesome and makes me so excited for the future of RA, especially for PS1 emulation. one question, is there some sort of compatibility list available to contribute to? I recently tried playing vagrant story and it seems like the game crashes every time at one specific cutscene. I was wondering if that was just me or not. everything else works like a dream though. PCSX Rearmed is super impressive.

What specific cutscene? how far into the game? you should try disabling Lightrec in the Core settings and try again to see if it still crashes. IIRC Vagrant Story isnt the most demanding game so you maybe able to get away with disabling Lightrec and the game still be playable?

EDIT: I've played the game for abit and I haven't had a crash yet, the cutscene you mentioned could be further in tho.
Good news is you CAN disable Lightrec and still get fullspeed emulation in this game if you..
Disable Dynarec in the Core settings and set PSX CPU Clock Speed to 30 ;)

It's the first cutscenes. For some reason when it zooms on one of the character's faces it just freezes. Trying to skip the cutscenes just results in a black screen. I'm not sure why it does this. Like the music is playing so it isn't a complete crash. I tried your recommendation and that just prevents the game from loading.

The first cutscene? I have no problems with crashing there, I've played 10 mins of the game with no issues. so there must be an issue with you game/bios?

I am using RetroArch in an aroma environment.
Are there any plans to fix the following two issues?
Thank you for working on this great project.
The rotation issue is known but no fix yet IIRC, I dont use ISFShax or the USB Partition Plugin so I cant help there, but Retroarch does support Fat32 USB Drives as is.. I use one for my games :)

Hi, is it worth having any bios for any cores in the current build? I'm new to Retroarch in this aspect by the way.
I cant pack in bios files with the build in my sig, but if you google for retroarch bios pack or something you should be able to find them, just place them in sd:/retroarch/cores/system.

If you open retroarch, then load core and look for core information, you can check if that core needs a bios file, plus it can tell you if the bios you place in the sd;/retroarch/cores/system folder in correct too. :)

Sweet, thank you.

On a side note, I was wondering what the current state of saturn looks like on this platform's Retroarch?

Saturn is a lost cause on WiiU RA, speed is terrible and the display is green lol
Best thing to do is use the Wii Seta-GX Emulator and use WiiU Overclock, that'll get you the best performance.

Is it possible to have pro controller as the highest priority? If I have both the pro controller and the gamepad on, the gamepad takes priority as player 1 input.

You can change the port assigned to a controller in the Quick Menu under the Controllers option (name might be different, I have RA set to a different language).
One issue is that other controllers, aside from the gamepad, cannot open the menu using the menu button, for some reason... Instead, you need to configure a button combination to access it.

Pressing the Home button on the pro controller with me opens the RA menu just fine.

Do you launch RetroArch with the GamePad turned on or off?

When it is charged I usually leave it on as I am sometimes to lazy to turn it off.

But I mostly leave it uncharged, because I find using it annoying compared to the more traditional pro controller with its outstanding battery life.

Hello @ploggy i was wondering if there's a way to transfer wiistation saves to retroarch? If so, what type of save extension does the ps1 core use?

Also, also. I'm having problems getting my bios read by retroarch.

I bet you launched RetroArch after turning off the GamePad, which is why the Pro Controller's menu button worked in your case. What I'm saying is that if you launch RetroArch while the GamePad is turned on, no controller other than the GamePad can use the Home button to access the menu effectively. At least this is my experience.

Honestly I have no clue about the save files? you could try renaming the file perhaps? You can find the save path for the WiiU PcsxRearmed Core in SD:/retroarch/cores/savefiles.

Your Bios files need to be placed in SD:/retroarch/cores/system
You can check here what the bios should be named https://docs.libretro.com/library/pcsx_rearmed/

You can check your Bios by loading the PcsxRearmed core then navigating to Information then Core Information, there it will tell you if your Bios is present and correct..

HAs anybody had any luck running Primal Rage 2 on retro arch on either tiramisu or aroma .....Or even if anyone knows if it's possible ...??... This is the legacy WiiU was destined to fulfill, running obscure unfinished and unreleased Atari software ....

From what I read the game requires a newer Mame than the WiiU supports :/

Thank you for your answer. Either way, it is not a big problem.

By the way, is there any chance that the Beetle PC-FX core will be added to the Aroma build?
