i have got 3DO running but in black screen no pictures did with .iso and .cue/.bin both still in black. i could close the game not freeze anymore. Anyone experince with this situation?

By "in the correct folders" you mean those that are set in settings -> directory settings?

Because that should be it.
Why don't you just start a savegame in something like Zelda or Pokémon and look how saves are created by RetroArch and where.
I don't ever remember changing the default directories. I have them in the roms directory, the savegames directory, and the savestates directory. The filenames all correspond to how RetroArch named them originally (same filename as the ROM). I guess I'll check my directory settings when I get home later.

Which game? I have tried megarace and microcosm (timing hack 5 enabled) and they both work.

Yep you should do that. They don't belong to the roms directory. At least not by default.
There must be a savegames and savestates folder somewhere inside the retroarch folder on your SD card. That's where you would have to put them. Or - just as I said - adjust the directory settings to match your actual saves path. ;)

I already have them in the savegames and savestates folders. I added them to the roms directory just in case. There must be something else going on. I'll have to dig a bit deeper.

You should try loading the saves on RetroArch for windows, using the same core. If they work on the PC, then they'll definitely work on the Switch too. If they don't, then there's something wrong with the save file itself.

The weird thing is that they worked a week ago before I updated to 1.7.6. They're native Switch saves from RetroArch. I have to be doing something wrong, I'll figure it out.

Both games work for me.

Generate logs using - Generating Logs with Nintendo Switch - found at the Libretro docs website, under users - getting started.
still not working all i get is black screen and it reads 3DO format and in playlist dont know what else to do but ill figure out later. what format are your 3DO iso or cue/bin? Mine is cue/bin that what it is listed in my playlist not iso that is weird but i can load iso in content. i restart after change the setting in 3DO then restart every time. Nothing happen

So I began using shaders to get some improved quality of games I play on my TV, and I read up that CRT-EasyMode was a pretty good one (at least for RetroArch on the Switch). However, I'm noticing an oddity with it, and I don't know if it's intentional. Its seems that with this shader, the output differs between 720p and 1080p. When the Switch is set to 720p, the output of the shader looks like scanlines, but with 1080p set instead, it looks more like dots. I am running with 1.7.6, and used a GBA game running on mGBA for this test (which has the warning screen at the beginning). Had to use my phone because taking screenshots with either Switch or RetroArch caused either equivalent 720p images (Switch function) or 1080p images (RetroArch function), and the difference couldn't really be seen. And just to check, I looked at what the output would look like when in portable mode, and it looks like the 1080p output with the dot-like pattern, but was more subtle.

As I said before, just start a new savegame and look afterwards where the savegame has been created and how it was named. Then replace it by the savegame you already had. Should definitely work unless they are corrupted.

Mupen next plus has been working for weeks but now is black screening with the software is closed because of an error, it's always worked with the nsp of retroarch I've had and I've even tried title redirection and it's still doing the same thing... Does retroarch have an error log output?
