Im useing the latest everything but still no thumbnails. works with XMB but not on ozone, its very strange

You need to update the cores AND sd:/switch/retroarch_switch/retroarch_switch.nro

That 1.7.5 is the build of the core. no the build of retroarch. i made that mistake too

When i changed to another core the version changed to 1.7.7. so i must be on 1.7.7 the latest

ok we sorted out the problem together. it was the forwarder to the retroarch_switch nro that was the problem. ive been useing the old NX Forwarder and thats been booting up an old version of retroarch . its all working now

And this is why we never support forwarders.

Just a heads up for anyone else who downloads Nightlies from the buildbot, the two latest builds 2019-05-27 & 2019-05-28 DO NOT contain the cores folder anymore. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or an intended change, but you can still download the cores from https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/switch/libnx/latest/

every time i unzip on certain console thumbnails i get an error and thumbnails arent a to z

Looks like you have to download one at a time from that link, then just use winrar or 7zip.

tried that and that does work but certain links just arent working for me. i tried jdownloader but it asks me for a password. its very strange

You shouldn't need jdownloader you just click on the links. If some are not downloading then the links have to be fixed by the creators there's nothing you can do.

yeah mabe their bad links. but there are so many of them. thanks for your response.

If you match your rom names with the ones here you can download the images for the games you have inside RA (no need to download the whole package), there’s an option to download images for the whole playlist or individual for each game. One is under list and the other when you select a game, would need enable advanced settings, not sure.

For mame I would recommend playlist buddy, you just need a mame2003 dat.

im using it but it's not just for creating/editing an playlist ?
i even download all the thumbnail for pfba (by checking the last box) but the downloaded thumbnails are in long names not like the roms names !

edit : nvm i found a pack.

You need (kinst.zip) and (kinst.chd). Make a folder for the chd named 'kinst' and put only the chd inside it. put both in your ROM directory.


The game is barely playable tho. Runs a little too slow for my taste, even if you OC.
