Hello again peeps. I tried setting up retroarch the other day but was continuously running into issues. I couldn't even get it to appear in the homebrew channel. I want it for a lot of simple games like arkanoid, r-type, etc and not too many fighting games really, they aren't my thing. I tried it out on sdlMAME and only a few ROMs showed up overall. I was wondering if it would be better to get a dedicated neo geo emulator or something, or another emulator for arcade if one exists, if my problems persist. I just want to use a neo geo core and mame core on retroarch if that's my only choice, not sure what ROMs finalburn alpha is for, but I could try some of them. Thanks in advance.

Retroarch in Wii is very complete. But have in mind that NOT ALL THE ROMS ARE PLAYABLE.

For NeoGeo you want to convert your ROMS with a Romconverter that converts NAND into cache in order to load big NeoGeo roms.
For MAME you want to use MAMEWii and RetroArch's MAME Core alongside FinalBurn Alpha core.
There's a compatibility list out there that you can look for.

Why are you unable to load Retroarch?
Do you have everything set up correctly?

What retroarch version did you download?
In the libretro site, avoid the stable releases and go with some nightly build.
Last night I tried the 26 december nightly build and it's working perfectly.
Use that for everything except for mame.
For mame use the mame 2003 plus cores from wiimpathy

I seriously think that thread should be stickied.

I am unsure, but it just doesn't appear in the homebrew menu. I downloaded the most recent build from the official site.

On second thought I am just not going to bother with Retroarch, I had too much trouble with it and I have managed to install the games I want but on other emulators. Thanks for the help anyways guys!
