ok, that took a bit longer than 10 min :D

this build fixes the gfx glitches in mslug1 and 2, although I fear that it will now refuse to load mslug3 :/

In any case, this still gets us closer to the goal, and should also allow loading other roms that weren't possible before, that have a size somewhere between that of mslugx and mslug3.

DIP switches offset: 25

what this error means?
no clue xD

Loving the PicoDrive emulator, works really quick on o3ds in userland.

If it helps, I'm noticing a bug on Stage 2 ("RUIN") of Lightening Force--killing the boss leads the game to lock up before it explodes, while the music continues to play (it's kick ass so music, so not too big of a problem tbh).

No error message shows up on the bottom-screen, but I've emulated this game on other systems and this has never happened until I tried this one, and it happens each time. I don't think it's a problem with the rom I'm using, either .

If this is something that anyone wants to check out, the boss fight starts at 2:50 of this video--I figure it could help locate this crash (sorry, the boss fight/stage don't exist as self-contained clips on youtube).

Bug report (using .3dsx Retroarch latest version on O3DS FW10.1U): Problem with savefiles/savestates still continues... Files are stored always on root of SD, in spite of "folder config options" points to another paths (/retroarch/cores/savefiles/ and /retroarch/cores/savestates/), and change to another path doesn't solve the problem.

Please fix that!

I've been playing on the latest .3DS builds for gpsp and everything is running 60fps solid (tried Mario Kart, Minish Cap and Pokemon FireRed) on n3DS. So good! I have a few questions:

1. Quick Menu/Default Content Directory/Load Recent - are these not ready yet or am I missing something?

2. If using 1:1 display for Gameboy/Gameboy Advance, will it be possible to get some nice screen overlays?

3. Will we ever be able to have the option to switch screen display between top and bottom?

You're right about those games, they are now working full speed and that's great.
Only there's a lot more games which work still 20-30fps for some reason (Gunstar Super Heroes, Kuru Kururin, Krazy Racers, Mario Tennis).
Does anybody else have problems with the games I mentioned?

I had this issue and it was driving me mad. I worked it out.

Open "retroarch.cfg", in the retroarch folder on your SD in notepad. Scroll down to the directory settings (can't miss it). Delete the / at the end of the directory. Save it.

For example: "....retroarch/cores/save/" needs to be "....retroarch/cores/save"

It will now work as before.

mslug3 runs :) Graphics are fine, game fully playable (e: at least for a bit of the first level that I tried).
It's sneaky tho, on loading the game, I got the errors about missing roms (obscure ng bios files) and then it seemingly froze up for maybe a minute, then out of the blue the game started.
Guess it could be while it's unzipping the game?

Thanks for the advice... I'll try later!... Edit: Trying with that and, sadly, not working after all.

But, anyway, I think this problem should be fixed directly on the Retroarch cores!

woohoo :D
no everything is working fine then, neogeo roms are encrypted and it takes a while to decrypt +100MB on slow hardware. the fba core itself would need to be changed with either the ability to load decrypted roms , or a faster decryption algorithm, to avoid the 1 min freeze.

the errors are probably about unused bios files that are missing, nothing important either.
very glad to hear that it is finally working !!

cant make metal slug 3 running.... Trier lots of roms and different bios.... So strange.

i confirm now the graphics are good
ant

can you try with a clean config file ?
also, as I said before, try the rom+bios on retroarch for PC first to be 100% sure that you have the right one.

Smea has tweeted again saying that the 2.5 hax should be ready by Sunday. The hype in on again :D

@aliaspider using brahma 2 would it be possible get dynarec working on compatible cores on the .3dsx builds on a 9.2 or below system? With more ram coming soon to the 3dsx build + dynarec would be awesome.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 3dsx builds already use libkhax on 9.2 and below for dynarec purposes. I seem to remember using gpSP not too long ago and it ran everything I threw at it at 60 FPS.
