No way! Really!?

How many roms do you ended up with?

Just curious.

Here's what I'm currently doing:
- I'm trying to come up with a "definitive" or in other words "more complete" compatibility list for RetroArch-Wii using the aforementioned cores (MAME 2000, FBA, CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, NEOGEO, MAME 2003 PLUS cores + other "unnoficial" cores).
Once I'm done sorting out the roms I'll give lists with:
- rom file names that JUST WORKS
- Parents Only
- Romset they come from
- Which core to use to load them in Wii

When I'm done, I'll PM you and maybe compare results?

All of that has already been done including FBNEO for Hexaeco, PGM and Psikyo with FBA arcade roms separated by publisher/developer, all put in their correct folders. This has been completed for some years now, I would say 99% accurate complete other than testing roms from other sets for compatibility which would be a crazy task.

I'll attach all arcade compatibility lists here soon as well as a working ROM count.:)

Please do!
The "compatibility lists" I've found throughout the entire Wii Forum doesn't list roms that I have as working.

Good progress was made today.
From 5980 roms I only have to sort out 1940 exactly.

Thanks in advance!

At least these will be reference then you can add or combine your results too.:)

I wrote to my friend superrsonic a few days ago to see if he would compile the MAME2000 core for hexaco because there are several games that can't be launched by other cores... still no response from him. But don't lose hope, hahaha.
I'm separating the games not by manufacturer (I already did that with more than 40 companies... don't ask me for details because I deleted them, although I still have some saved). But I realized that to work in Wiiflow it's better to separate the games by genre, that way you get to the game faster, and that's what I'm doing for both horizontal and vertical arcade games in Wiiflow... a lot of work, as you surely know. I'm making it possible to launch the same game with normal difficulty and, in the same category, that same game launched by the same core with hardest difficulty, all with a single button. This applies to all FBA games except for the FBA Alpha games themselves, which I believe don't allow access to the difficulty menu, and the CPS1 games (the NeoCPS1 and FBNEO CPS1 games do). If anyone knows how to access the difficulty settings to change it, I would appreciate it if you could tell me so I can implement it in Wiiflow.

Minor update for Hexaeco Bezels (32 Bezels added) and huge update for Frankenstein Bezels (530+ Bezels added). All have not been tested thoroughly so if you find any not displaying, please post so I can fix the cfg.:)

SS-Hexaeco Bezels

How to enable bezels? I haven't seen the option in menu.

Please check FBA-2012 and see if Osman (osman.zip) or Power Instinct (powerins.zip) works. Graphic problems when I try to boot them. Maybe incompatible?

I think they're not compatible, if I remember correctly. Osman is compatible with MAME Wii. That version they made, I think it was MAME4Wii, has an interface for selecting games. It's sure to work on that one, and I remember it running perfectly without any issues during the short time I tested it. I use those MAME versions as a last resort because I want to play at the original arcade resolution, and those Wii versions of MAME inexplicably aren't compatible with native resolutions. I think it's because the people who port or develop them play on LCDs and don't care how the game looks on screen, and of course, they don't implement native resolutions... a shame. It's like putting training wheels on a Ferrari.
I'll try those two games. I'm just about to have to add them to my Wiiflow around this time.

hello! i’ve been using the modified emulators and i am really satisfied! although, there is one problem.

whenever i load tapper on Core A of MAME 2003+, i cannot press any of the buttons i cant press select and start. after a while, a split second of the mame menu shows up and then shows me this color palette and crashes afterwards. leading me to hard power off the console. it happens even without no modifications in the configuration.

however, if i use the retroarch (not the SuperrSonic version) version of the core, it works with no errors.

is this able to be fixed?

This is a known issue and afaik there is no fix.:(

There are a few other games with issues using Hex Core A...Journey cannot take credits and a couple others I cannot recall have the credits issue also.

It is great having MAME 2003 Plus on Hexaeco but there is definitely some compatibility lost from the original RA Wiimpathy cores, most notably using core A.

ah. i see. another thing i just discovered is that the audio in bosconian (which is loaded from core A) is different in the ra-ss version than the original sound in the retroarch version. seems like the retroarch version is the best to go with for the time being. thanks and merry christmas! (if you celerate it)

Thanks for the info, I didn't know of the bosconian difference and that is one of the arcade games I play often.

I do celebrate Christmas so thank you for the greetings...Merry Christmas to you my friend.:)

Osman and Power Instinct run flawless on Mame4wii. What about controller options on Mame4wii? Is it only the wiimote?

Well, when I played it, Osman was working perfectly... Could it be that it was on a different version of MAME? I don't know if I downloaded it from Zorg or Cheloretro... umm...
Yes. I think MAME4Wii is only compatible with the Wiimote. I don't know if it's compatible with the Classic Controller or the Classic Controller Pro because I don't use them.

What settings to change in order to get 640x240p resolution in Hexaco? Only one quarter of the screen shows on my display.

From what I remember you have to select the option to automatic change resolution.
Then any 240p resolution will activate the auto switch and double strike, if that's what you're searching for.
